A Cozy Night Out in Apgujeong Rodeo: Shrimp Factory (Head Branch) Review

With the weather getting chilly these days, I've been craving a get-together with friends in a warm place, enjoying delicious food and drinks. My friends suggested meeting in Apgujeong Rodeo, a trendy neighborhood these days, so I immediately started searching online. There are many restaurants, but it's not easy to find a place with a good atmosphere that stays open late. Then, I stumbled upon a bar in Apgujeong Rodeo that caught my eye with its unique vibe from the outside. I immediately decided on this place and recommended it to my friends. Everyone looked forward to it, so I'm really excited for tonight!
It was a long-awaited gathering with colleagues, so I was looking for a place that was both a bit formal and comfortable for conversation. Even on a weekday evening, the streets of Apgujeong Rodeo were bustling with energy, and I felt excited as I walked. The place we found was really close to the station, so everyone arrived without getting lost. The unique atmosphere from the entrance made me think, 'This is exactly the Apgujeong Rodeo bar we were looking for!' It's said to have a pojangmacha (street stall) vibe, so I opened the door, curious to see what it would be like.
Shrimp Factory - A Blend of Street Stall Vibes and Gourmet Pub, a Pass from the First Impression
As soon as I stepped inside, the atmosphere was really charming. The exterior is in a sophisticated neighborhood, but the interior felt like a modern interpretation of a vintage Korean pub. The dim lighting created a cozy atmosphere perfect for chatting with friends, and there was a lively energy without being too noisy. The interior was definitely different from typical bars, and there seemed to be many places to take pictures. Starting the evening at such a nice bar in Apgujeong Rodeo made me feel good already.
What I especially liked was the efficient use of space. Even though there were four of us, the table spacing was adequate, so we could chat comfortably without worrying about the next table. Apparently, this place is also well-equipped with room spaces optimized for group gatherings or private time. I immediately thought that it would be great to rent this Apgujeong Rodeo bar for a company dinner or a friend's birthday party next time. The service was also satisfactory, as the staff were friendly and helpful.
Exploring Signature Dishes that Capture Both Visuals and Taste
As soon as we sat down, we started to pore over the menu, and every dish caught our eye. We ordered a few of the recommended main dishes, and the 'Shrimp Gambas' stood out the most. The visuals of the dish served on the plate were already artistic. Plump shrimp were simmering in olive oil with garlic, and the aroma stimulated my appetite the moment it hit my nose.
This shrimp gambas comes with baguette bread, and dipping the bread in the sauce made the texture of the shrimp and the flavor of the garlic-infused oil blend fantastically. It wasn't just shrimp, but other seafood was also included, making it even more flavorful. Thanks to the warm oil, I enjoyed every last drop, and I thought it was definitely worthy of being the signature dish of this Apgujeong Rodeo bar. My friends all gave this menu a thumbs up.
The Majesty of Seafood Jjamppong Tang with a Deep and Rich Broth
The second dish we ordered was 'Seafood Jjamppong Tang.' You can't leave out a hot soup dish on a chilly day, right? The jjamppong tang, served in a pot, had a deep red color that seemed to soothe the soul just by looking at it. Just by the visuals, I could guess that this Apgujeong Rodeo bar's cooking skills were exceptional.
I took a spoonful of the broth, and wow, the deep and rich flavor was truly excellent. The coolness and spiciness from the seafood harmonized perfectly, and the various seafood and vegetables that were generously included instead of noodles added to the fun of chewing. Especially the seafood such as squid and mussels were fresh, so the texture was alive. I kept reaching for it, wondering if there could be a better dish for a drinking snack. This hot jjamppong tang was truly a stroke of genius on a chilly day.
The Pinnacle of Chewy Texture, a Menu that Boasts a Fantastic Harmony with Special Sauce
The third dish we tasted was a dish with a chewy texture, although I don't remember the name. It was probably a similar style to Dakgalbi or Dakbokkeumtang, and it was seasoned with a special sauce, so I felt a strong spicy-sweet taste. The chicken was so tender and chewy, and the seasoning was soaked in, making it so addictive that I wanted to keep eating it without rice.
The charm of this menu was doubled when eaten with the side dishes that came with it. As the staff recommended, we added fried rice and mixed it in, and the fried rice was also perfect because the sauce was so delicious. Thanks to the spicy flavor, I experienced the magic of the drinks flowing smoothly. I thought that I wouldn't need to look for another place if the quality of the food was this good. I once again realized that the level of the Apgujeong Rodeo bar was high.
Joy that Continues Until Dawn and the Advantage of Accessibility
One of the biggest advantages of this place is its operating hours. Usually, many bars in the Apgujeong area don't stay open late, but this place is open from 4 AM to 6:30 AM, so it's bound to be the best choice for people who want to chat until late. We were able to finish comfortably without feeling pressured, even though a lot of time had passed.
In addition, the location is really great. It's only a 3-minute walk from Exit 5 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station, so it's very accessible for people using public transportation. Thanks to this, everyone was able to gather comfortably at the meeting place, and we were able to have a good time without worrying about going to work the next day. I didn't check the parking information separately, but with this location, public transportation seems much more convenient than driving.
A Special Time Enjoyed in a Private Space
When we visited, we used the general hall space, but I was impressed by the fact that there was a room space for group customers or special gatherings inside. I think the room would be really useful for those planning a blind date or a quiet birthday party. Being able to spend time alone without worrying about the next table seems to be a great privilege that you can enjoy at the Apgujeong Rodeo bar.
Next time, I want to book this private room for a more formal gathering. It's great for friends to play comfortably, but this well-equipped space seems to be perfect for business meetings or important anniversaries. Overall, the interior and service that paid attention to even the smallest details made me feel like the level of the gathering was elevated.
Overall, 'Shrimp Factory (Head Branch)' is a place that gave me a more satisfactory experience than I expected. It's not just a place to drink alcohol, but the unique atmosphere where the gourmet food, pojangmacha vibe, and trendiness coexist was really charming. In particular, I think the biggest advantage is that it's open until late, so you don't have to worry about a second or third round and you can solve everything here.
Next time I have an appointment near Apgujeong Rodeo, or when I want to chat with friends until late, I will not hesitate to visit this place again. If you want to have deep conversations with delicious seafood dishes, or if you are looking for a bar with a good atmosphere in Apgujeong Rodeo, I highly recommend this place. In particular, I hope you will definitely try the Gambas and Jjamppong Tang!
