‘Tyrant Chef’ Team Reunites in Da Nang for Reward Vacation

The team behind tvN's drama ‘Tyrant Chef,’ which achieved great success with a peak viewership rating of 19.4%, has embarked on a reward vacation to Da Nang, Vietnam.
On the 27th, actor Moon Seung-yoo shared a travel video on Instagram with the caption “Wo.Haeng.Si (Our Happy Moments).”
In the video, the actors couldn't hide their excitement from the moment they arrived at the airport. Laughter filled the air on the plane, and upon arrival, they immediately enjoyed local food and sightseeing.
It was truly an energetic trip befitting the ‘Tyrant Chef’ team.
The group photo was particularly eye-catching, with YoonA standing in the center, radiating her signature ‘YoonA’ aura with a natural smile and comfortable attire.
Lee Chae-min, who played King Yi Heon, stood beside her. The two showed off their great teamwork, just like in the drama.
Moon Seung-yoo started the video with the phrase “Shall we all go together?” capturing moments of laughter and enjoyment with the actors. The video conveyed the strong teamwork and vibrant atmosphere of the drama set.
Following the release of the video, fellow actors left heartfelt comments. Lee Eun-jae, who played Deposed Consort Yeon, expressed her affection for YoonA, saying, “I was happy thanks to the Princess.” Yoon Seo-ah, who played Seo Gil-geum, also reminisced about the unforgettable memories, commenting, “I want to go again.”
YoonA, whom the actors called ‘Princess,’ played the role of French chef Yeon Ji-young in the drama, perfectly portraying a confident woman who tames a tyrannical king with her cooking.
Her leadership and warm personality, which made her a central figure among the actors, seemed to shine through on this trip as well.
‘Tyrant Chef’ achieved success with its unique combination of historical drama and cuisine. The drama is a time-slip romantic comedy about a French chef, Yeon Ji-young (YoonA), who is transported to the Joseon era and meets the worst tyrant and greatest gourmet, Yi Heon (Lee Chae-min).
The drama garnered much love from viewers for its ingenious setting, which intertwined the modern subject of cooking with the classic backdrop of a historical drama. According to Nielsen Korea, the final episode recorded a national average of 17.1% and a peak of 19.4%, concluding amid much buzz.
YoonA's detailed emotional acting, Lee Chae-min's intense charisma, and the rich food presentation combined to earn the drama the reputation of being a feast for both the eyes and the palate.
The ‘Tyrant Chef’ team departed for Da Nang via Incheon International Airport on October 21st. They were rewarded with delicious food, warm sunshine, and laughter-filled moments, escaping from the demanding schedule during filming.
In particular, YoonA not only played a key role in the drama but also enlivened the atmosphere on set, earning her the reputation of being an actress everyone wants to work with among the cast and staff.
Through this reward vacation, the actors encouraged each other's hard work and recharged their energy for future projects. Like the French chef in the drama, YoonA and the actors completed a ‘happy recipe’ in Da Nang, marking a true happy ending.
