Son Ho-jun Denies Discord Rumors with 'Three Meals a Day' Team

Son Ho-jun has addressed rumors of discord within the 'Three Meals a Day' team, clarifying that they are "groundless" and that he was contacted in advance regarding the show's direction.
One of the biggest topics of interest among TV entertainment fans was whether Son Ho-jun would appear on ‘Three Meals a Day: Light.’
The tvN show ‘Three Meals a Day: Light,’ which aired last year as a 10th-anniversary special, featured only Cha Seung-won and Yoo Hae-jin, leading to rumors among fans that there was a falling out between Son Ho-jun and producer Na Young-seok.
Son Ho-jun addressed these rumors on Ji Suk-jin's YouTube channel, ‘Ji Comfortable World,’ stating firmly that they were “groundless,” thus clearing up any misunderstandings.
He explained, "(PD Na) contacted me in advance to ask what I thought, and I said that I thought it would be really fun to see just the two older guys doing it."
He added that the fans' disappointment seemed to have been exaggerated by the media and that Cha Seung-won and Yoo Hae-jin had also contacted him to apologize because of the articles.
The rumors were born from fans' expectations and unintentionally grew into a bigger incident.
Because ‘Three Meals a Day’ has been a beloved program for a long time, any changes to the original cast are bound to attract attention. Son Ho-jun cautiously explained that the misunderstanding stemmed from the fans' affection, saying, “There are so many fans, and I think they were expressing their disappointment.”
He also clarified that his appearance on ‘Channel Fifteen Nights’ was not to address the discord rumors but to promote a play that PD Na had suggested, thus resolving any remaining questions.
This was an example of how fans' reactions can sometimes amplify rumors.
This wasn't the first time such rumors had spread. In 2023, fake news that PD Na Young-seok had cut ties with model and actor Bae Jung-nam garnered 8 million views, causing a significant stir.
The issue originated from a press conference for ‘Spanish Boarding House’ in 2019, where PD Na jokingly said, “He is a friend who is true to his instincts. It’s a program where we provide guests with a warm day, but he was the first person I saw who took care of his own needs so much.”
However, some netizens misinterpreted this and twisted it negatively, and fake news content consumed it in a more sensational way. Bae Jung-nam revealed that he suffered damage to the point where it affected his casting opportunities.
With rumors persisting, PD Na directly invited Bae Jung-nam to conduct a live broadcast to clarify the situation. He said, “The intention itself was to try to highlight Bae Jung-nam’s natural points in a fun way,” adding that he realized it could have been misunderstood.
He continued, “Anyway, I’m sorry. It’s not a joke, but I feel like it’s all my fault. Actually, today’s broadcast was intended to criticize the person who made that short video, but as I watched it, there were some parts that we also felt guilty about,” and apologized again.
Bae Jung-nam responded, “We are the type of people who are glad to see each other even if we don’t see each other often. It feels like we saw each other just a few days ago,” showing their unchanging friendship.
Both the clarification of Son Ho-jun's discord rumors and the past case of Bae Jung-nam's severed ties demonstrate that public interest can sometimes be amplified in unintended ways.
In the entertainment industry, even minor remarks can often have significant repercussions, and short video content is likely to cause misunderstandings by removing context.
However, both cases were warmly concluded through the active communication and explanations of those involved. In the end, the truth naturally found its place even amidst the rumors, and the trust between PD Na Young-seok and the cast was confirmed to be as solid as ever.
If fans continue to watch the program and cast with affectionate eyes, we can look forward to seeing good chemistry in the future.
