Kim Soo-hyun's Legal Team Responds to Allegations with Counter-Evidence
A New Phase Begins with a Rebuttal Video
The case takes a new turn as Kim Soo-hyun's legal representative, attorney Ko Sang-rok, steps forward directly.
Ko Sang-rok released a video on his YouTube channel titled 'Gaseyeon Case Official Position: Fabricated Evidence, Distorted Truth,'
addressing the suspicions raised and launching a full-scale counterattack.
He stated, "This case began with Kim Sae-ron's false statement, based on which CEO Kim Se-eui made false claims,"
emphasizing that the formation of public opinion based on false information is the core issue.
He also strongly criticized the fact that photos taken when Kim Soo-hyun was an adult were misrepresented as evidence of dating a minor.
Unpresented 'Thousands' of Photos and KakaoTalk Manipulation Controversy
Attorney Ko questioned, "CEO Kim Se-eui said he would release 'thousands of photos,' but has not presented a single one to date."
Regarding the core of the controversy, the KakaoTalk conversations from June 2016 and April 13, 2018,
he publicly asked, "Clearly state the basis for concluding that the other party is actor Kim Soo-hyun."
He expressed concern that this lack of evidence has caused greater confusion among the public,
and that suspicions have become accepted as facts without verification.
He also presented the fact that Kim Soo-hyun was immersed in the final stages of filming the movie 'Real' at the time as grounds for rebuttal.
Strong Expression: 'Character Assassination and National Fraud'
Attorney Ko strongly criticized the method of presenting evidence.
He argued that Gaseyeon placed letters written during his military service alongside postcards exchanged during his adult dating years,
misleading viewers.
Furthermore, he raised his voice, saying, "They forged the sender of the KakaoTalk conversations and fabricated adult photos as photos from his minor years.
They engaged in this manipulation for profit, knowing it was false."
He strongly condemned this as "malicious character assassination and a national fraud," as the broadcast was reported by foreign media and spread worldwide.
Plea: 'The Truth Must Be Revealed'
At the end of the video, attorney Ko reiterated the need for truth, saying, "I hope Kim Soo-hyun can regain his honor and daily life and return to his original place."
He has already argued that "the claim that he dated the late Kim Sae-ron, who was a minor at the time, is clearly false," by revealing letters Kim Soo-hyun sent to his lover during his military service.
This presentation of evidence seems to go beyond simple explanation and is seen as part of an active legal response,
and attention is focused on the possibility of further disclosure of data in the future.
Can Public Opinion Be Reversed? Future Actions to Watch
The incident began when the bereaved family of the late Kim Sae-ron claimed through Gaseyeon since March
that "Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron for six years, starting when she was a third-year middle school student and a minor."
In response, Kim Soo-hyun's agency stated, "It is true that the two dated, but it was from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020, when Kim Sae-ron became an adult,"
but the worsened public opinion did not easily turn around.
Since the controversy, Kim Soo-hyun has suspended activities, and some brands have even filed lawsuits for damages.
Currently, Kim Soo-hyun's side is completely denying the allegations of dating a minor and continuing legal action,
and attention is focused on whether the cold public opinion will return.
