Hwang Min-hyun's Post-Military Plans Attract Attention
Attention is focused on Hwang Min-hyun (formerly of NU'EST) and his upcoming activities after his discharge from mandatory service. Pledis Entertainment announced on October 23rd that they are "reviewing" the offer for him to appear in Season 2 of the Tving original drama, 'Study Group'.
'Study Group', based on the popular webtoon of the same name, is a comedic high school action drama. It tells the story of Yoon Ga-min (played by Hwang Min-hyun), who wants to excel academically but only has a talent for fighting. He throws himself into the cutthroat world of university entrance exams at the worst delinquent school, forming a study group.
The first season, released on Tving in January, received positive reviews from viewers and achieved success, ranking first in Tving's new paid subscriber contribution for five consecutive weeks. The positive response from international viewers has also fueled interest in the production of a second season.
Hwang Min-hyun enlisted in March of last year and began his alternative service as a social worker. He is scheduled to be discharged on December 20th. Prior to his discharge, he was also selected as an MC for the '2025 MBC Music Festival', further amplifying the anticipation for his future projects.
