Four Challengers Embark on a Full Marathon Journey on 'Run For You'

Four challengers, and the start of a full marathon course.
On TV Chosun's 'Run For You,' Song Il-gook, Song Hae-na, Yubin (formerly of Wonder Girls), and Park Sung-kwang gathered to take on the challenge of a full marathon course.
Song Il-gook confessed, "I've run a full course five times. But that was 20 years ago, so I'm worried too. It's been too long since I've run." He revealed his nervousness.
The show gradually unraveled the meaning behind the marathon challenge by showcasing each participant's past photos and stories.
Their challenge held a weight beyond simple running, providing viewers with a sense of immersion.
Song Il-gook's Past Physique Revealed, Goal is 'Jennie'
Upon seeing Song Il-gook's past photos, Park Sung-kwang exclaimed, "What's with the butt? What happened?" causing laughter.
Song Hae-na was surprised, saying, "His body was very angry."
In response, Song Il-gook caused an uproar by pointing to Blackpink's Jennie in an advertisement, saying, "I'm challenging myself to a marathon because I want to go back to that body. I need to lose weight and become a superstar like that."
In an interview, he emphasized the life-changing significance of running, stating, "Running changed my life. I was overweight in my early 20s, but I lost weight through running and passed the public recruitment exam."
For him, this challenge is both 'nostalgia' and a 're-challenge'.
Park Sung-kwang's Sense of Duty, Running for 'Gag Concert'
Park Sung-kwang revealed a photo of 'Gag Concert,' saying, "'Gag Concert' was once abolished. Then it came back, but when 'Gag Concert' disappeared, the younger comedians had a hard time."
He said, "I thought I should run for my junior comedians."
He expressed a desire to support his junior comedians, rather than just a personal challenge.
It was a moment that well captured the affection and solidarity towards colleagues and profession. Viewers were reminded of the reality of the comedy scene through Park Sung-kwang's sincerity.
Song Hae-na's Courage Beyond Injury and Rehabilitation
Song Hae-na shared a photo of the 'Goal Girl' FC Guchuk Jangshin team, revealing, "I had a major injury. I had hip surgery and took a break from exercising for two years."
She continued, "Back then, I often thought, 'Will I be able to run?' while running alone. I ran with the thought of rehabilitating, even if it was slowly. The friends next to me accommodated me a lot."
Regarding this challenge, she said, "It's partly for me, but I want to run for the friends who matched their tempo for me," showing a deep friendship.
The pain and effort of returning after an injury evoked empathy and support from many.
Yubin's Touching Memories, and the Appearance of a Legendary Coach
Yubin revealed a photo taken with her father when she was young. "My father passed away to heaven nine years ago.
I found out that my father went to marathons when I was young. He ran 10-20km every day. I think of him a lot when I exercise," she said with overwhelming emotion.
She added, "I've only been able to run about twice. I'm so sad. This time, I'm taking on the challenge thinking that my father is next to me," adding to the emotion. Hearing this, Park Sung-kwang joked to Song Il-gook,
"Everyone is touched, but you're the only one for yourself, hyung," softening the atmosphere.
Later, when marathon heroes Hwang Young-jo and master Lee Yeon-jin appeared as coaches, the members were deeply moved, expressing deep respect, saying, "He's my hero," and "Someone I saw in textbooks."
