Discharge Dream Dashed… "Unnecessarily Upset"

Actor Cha Hyun-seung has been sharing his daily life in the hospital while battling leukemia through his personal YouTube channel.

The video titled 'Escaping the Hospital' reveals his desperate desire to leave the hospital.

During rounds, the medical staff said, "It seems like your levels will rise in a week," but due to fluctuating blood counts, they decided to monitor him for another day or two, and his discharge was canceled.

He confessed his disappointment, saying, "Today's discharge has been thwarted. I'm unnecessarily upset."

The next day, his immunity levels dropped to 499, and he accepted it calmly, saying, "That's why I didn't get discharged yesterday."

A Brief Taste of Freedom… The Preciousness of Walking Under the Sunlight

Fortunately, his neutrophil count recorded 664, and his discharge was finally confirmed. He finished preparing to go home.

"I have to come back in about ten days, but I still got out," he said with a bright smile, which touched many hearts.

The video clearly showed how happy he was with a single breeze, the sunlight, and the act of walking itself after a long hospital stay.

For a moment, he enjoyed a walk under the summer sun, took in the fresh air, and savored his precious daily life.

Back to the Hospital… Pain Spreading Throughout the Body

However, his hospitalization was not over. He had to pack his bags and head back to the hospital.

Explaining that "When platelets drop, capillaries burst, causing petechial hemorrhages," as his platelet levels decreased, red spots actually spread on his skin, causing dismay.

Also, he experienced a sudden high fever and extreme chills, shaking so much that he could barely hold his phone, and he expressed his pain with a short, "It's hard."

Medical staff usually recommend transfusions when platelet counts are below 50,000, and his levels dropped to 30,000, requiring continuous additional transfusions.

The Arduous Journey to Leave the Sterile Room

As a result of tests, he received two packs of blood due to low anemia levels and eventually left the sterile room to spend the remaining time in the cancer ward.

He revealed a small wish for his daily life, saying, "I want to travel, so I keep watching travel YouTube videos."

Despite recurring high fevers and chills, as well as pain in his muscles and joints, he was seen consistently exercising to boost his immunity.

He also didn't hide the realistic hardships of his battle, confessing, "Bone marrow biopsies are so painful," regarding frequent bone marrow examinations and the long examination process that required him to lie down for extended periods.

"Life Stopped in an Instant”… Fans Continue to Cheer

When he was rushed to the emergency room last June, he confessed, "My life stopped in an instant."

As a dancer who had been active in ‘Be Mbitious’ and ‘Physical: 100,’ his news was even more shocking because of his energetic image.

Last year, he started a new challenge as an actor, opening the second act of his life, but his steps were temporarily halted by an unexpected illness.

Currently, he continues to share his battle through YouTube, maintaining transparent communication, and support messages from colleagues and netizens are pouring in.

Someone commented, "I'll be waiting for the day you dance again," conveying warmth, and Cha Hyun-seung also gives viewers a deep impression by not losing hope.
