Byeon Woo-seok Shares Sincere Love for Film in Dazed Korea Pictorial

A Glimpse of Sincerity in a Captivating Photoshoot
Actor Byeon Woo-seok conveys both intense visuals and heartfelt sincerity in the November issue of Dazed Korea magazine.
In the released pictorial, he exudes a ‘fatal charm’ with his solid chocolate abs and deep gaze.
Going beyond mere external appeal, he sincerely expresses his love for ‘movies’ this time.
This photoshoot is part of the independent film production support project ‘SIFFXByeon Woo-seok: Shorts on 2025,’ in collaboration with the Seoul Independent Film Festival.
He stripped away the glamour, showcasing a pure and natural charm as if he were in a scene from an independent film.
On set, staff members were impressed by his profound and melancholic gaze, as if he were a new, unfamiliar actor.
"I tried not to interfere with the film."
Byeon Woo-seok revealed his aspect as ‘a person who loves movies’ before being an ‘actor’ through this photoshoot.
He stated, “In other shoots, I had to be more fashionable and glamorous, but today, since there was the theme of film, I thought it was important to not interfere with the film as much as possible.”
He continued, “Even in photoshoots where I inevitably have to appear, I tried to show a more primal side rather than a decorated one.” His choice to prioritize sincerity over embellishment and the essence of the story over style reveals how much Byeon Woo-seok respects the medium of film.
“Support I Can Offer Now”
Regarding his decision to collaborate with the Seoul Independent Film Festival, he said, “The work I can do isn’t significant, but I felt it would be good if I could add even a little strength during this time.” This contains the meaning of ‘solidarity’ and ‘support’ as a filmmaker, rather than simple promotion or sponsorship.
Byeon Woo-seok shared, “Independent films often create amazing results even in limited environments. I wanted to help with those realistic difficulties, even if just a little.” To him, this project was not just ‘participation’ but a ‘responsible action.’
“Independent Films: A Space Where Everyone Shines”
Byeon Woo-seok also didn't hide his affection for independent films.
He said, “I thought it was a way of support that I can do now. I want to do anything, even if it's small” and added, “I think independent films are a precious space and genre where new and creative directors, writers, actors, and staff can all naturally shine.”
Like his words, independent films are a space where people who still preserve the ‘essence of film’ gather, even within the massive commercial system. Byeon Woo-seok sent sincere support towards such scenes.
Byeon Woo-seok's Warm Presence: A 'Person,' Not a 'Star'
Through this project, Byeon Woo-seok showed another charm as a person who knows the value of film, not just a popular actor.
More impressive than his chocolate abs was his sincerity.
He is creating a warm breeze in the film industry by sharing his influence as a small light, not a glamorous spotlight.
