Ariana Grande Considered Ending Music Career Before 'Wicked'

Grammy-winning singer Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda in the film adaptation of 'Wicked' and is receiving positive reviews, including potential Academy Award consideration for Best Supporting Actress, revealed that she considered ending her music career before starting the project.
According to Just Jared, in a podcast called 'Shut Up Evan' delivered on October 24th, local time, Grande said, "When I went to London to film, I really did not have the intention of making any more albums.
It was a held thought for a really long time, and I really was. But through working on Glinda, it really did light a fire in me for what I do, and that I had lost for a really long time.
Like a pure spark, a sense of reconnection or inspiration. I guess that’s what I missed. But I think the point of that is that people evolve, and people change. And you miss things to learn to be better. I learned a lot, and I was able to purely save myself. I couldn’t not. I was inspired to write an album. I really couldn’t not." Ariana released her seventh original album, 'Eternal Sunshine,' in 2024, after about three years. The pre-release single 'yes, and?' topped the Apple Music and Spotify global charts upon release, setting her best Spotify streaming record and becoming a global sensation.
