Hello!

Welcome to 'Ilsan Lake Park', a representative relaxation space in Goyang City!

It's a popular spot for walks and exercise, but recently, there's a newly transformed area by the lakeside!

The Ilsan Lake Park dock has been renovated, allowing visitors to experience the lake up close!

The dock, which had been closed due to aging facilities, has now fully reopened to the public after undergoing extensive renovations.

On the day of my visit, the sky was overcast, but the calm lake and cloudy backdrop created a serene atmosphere at Ilsan Lake Park.

After being closed for a long time, the dock is now back for the community.

The Ilsan Lake Park dock faced restrictions due to damaged flooring and safety issues. Goyang City conducted two rounds of renovations, completing the second phase in July 2026.

During the renovations, remaining structures were removed, and new decks connected to four 'dock access paths' were installed over the water.

The revamped dock now features multiple observation areas extending over the lake, enhancing the overall experience.

Walking along the dock, I felt much closer to the lake!

I ventured inside the dock, and the perspective was quite different from viewing the park from the land.

As I walked along the deck into the lake, I was surrounded by water, with distant trees, buildings, and fountains coming into view.

Standing at the end of the long access path, it felt as if I was right in the middle of the lake.

The dock has transformed from a facility with a specific purpose into an open observation area where anyone can come and enjoy the lake scenery.

Goyang City has emphasized creating an open viewing area for everyone through this renovation.

Another notable feature is the improved access path, designed with consideration for strollers and individuals with mobility challenges.

During the renovation, Goyang City installed new safety railings to ensure that everyone can appreciate the lake views.

Instead of needing to climb stairs to reach an observation point, visitors can now move naturally along the deck.

The railings are installed along the edge of the dock, but it’s important to note that the area directly below is water.

While I was there, signs warned visitors not to lean over the railings.

Even with safety railings, caution is advised, especially for children, to prevent any accidents.

The dock is set to undergo further changes at night, with plans to install scenic lighting for nighttime views of the lake.

While the daytime views of the lake are lovely, the addition of lighting will create a different ambiance for evening strolls.

After exploring the dock, I continued my walk through the park, which spans approximately 1,034,000 square meters, with around 300,000 square meters of lake area.

Walking around, I encountered diverse landscapes within the same park.

In August, remnants of summer were still visible throughout the park.

The fountains were actively spraying water high into the air, creating a refreshing sight.

As I approached the lotus pond, the atmosphere changed completely, with large lotus leaves and pink flowers dotting the landscape.

It was delightful to see the beautiful pink flowers nestled among the green leaves.

In particular, I enjoyed watching the combination of lotus flowers and the long branches of willow trees.

The newly renovated dock is a great starting point for a walk in the lake park. After my visit to the dock, I walked to the wide lake with fountains and the lotus pond.

Even familiar places like 'Ilsan Lake Park' can present different views depending on the season and the paths chosen.

How about visiting the newly opened dock and experiencing the park's scenery before the transition from summer to autumn?

Thank you.
