Discovering Wonsusan: A Hidden Gem in Sejong City

Hello! Today, I would like to introduce Wonsusan, a must-visit spot located in the heart of Sejong City. It offers excellent accessibility and a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of the entire city from its peak.
The round trip to the summit takes about an hour, making it a perfect light hiking trail for families with children. My family often enjoys this walking path together. This time, we parked at the entrance of the Wonsusan Wetland Ecological Park and began our journey.
As spring approaches, the warm weather is a delightful reminder of the season's change. Hiking allows us to fully experience nature's transformation.
The trail starts with a gently sloping path, making it easy for young children to walk without much difficulty. Even small footsteps can lead to a sense of achievement at the summit.
As we ascend, we reach the Wonsusan Wetland Ecological Park, a precious space where one can enjoy nature amidst the urban environment. It offers a close-up view of various organisms and plants that inhabit the wetland ecosystem.
Continuing on, we arrive at Dalmaetdeul Neighborhood Park, a paradise for children.
Dalmaetdeul Park features unique play equipment, allowing kids to joyfully run around like squirrels in the forest. There are many exciting structures for them to explore.
Additionally, there are rest areas like a children's forest experience center and picnic spots, perfect for taking a break. (Note: The children's forest experience center was under construction during my visit, so it's best to check ahead!)
After enjoying our time at Dalmaetdeul Park, we head back toward the summit. Walking in sync with my child creates irreplaceable and happy memories.
The final stretch to the summit is quite steep and rocky, making it a bit challenging. However, sturdy ropes and safety devices are well-installed, so with just a little help from adults, children can make it to the top. Although the last part is steep, safety measures ensure that anyone can reach the peak. It was a proud moment for me to see my child holding my hand and making it to the top.
Finally, we arrive at the summit of Wonsusan (251m)! The view from the top offers a fantastic panorama of Sejong City.
Standing here, you can see the Geumgang River and the entire city sprawling below. It's truly one of the best viewpoints to take in the heart of Sejong.
If you're wondering where to go with your child this weekend, I recommend Wonsusan, a treasure of Sejong. It’s a perfect spot to create unforgettable memories together.
