From the famous bibimbap to various themed libraries and independent bookstores, Jeonju is rich in food and entertainment, making it a representative travel spot in Jeonbuk.
The second most loved travel destination is Buan-gun. Known for its magnificent Cheonseonggang cliffs and beautiful sunsets, Buan-gun is a place that will make you feel like you are falling in love when you watch the sunset. It is also a culinary paradise.
The third most popular travel destination is Gunsan. A city where modern history breathes, Gunsan is a romantic place, offering nostalgic experiences from the Gyeongam-dong railway village to the photo studio featured in the movie Christmas in August.
Hidden Gems in Population-Declining Areas
Next, let’s explore the TOP 3 areas in Jeonbuk experiencing population decline. The most loved travel destination among these areas is again Buan-gun, which has won two awards! Buan ranks second among 14 cities and counties and first among declining areas, receiving much affection from Jeonbuk travelers.
The second most loved destination is Gochang-gun. Famous for being the backdrop of the popular show Three Meals a Day in 2016, Gochang is well-known for its refreshing watermelon in summer and sweet sweet potatoes in winter, making it a delightful tourist spot all year round.
