Additionally, hidden gems in areas facing population decline, such as Gochang and Jeong-eup, are recognized for their distinct attractions like seasonal foods and stunning autumn foliage.

A Warm Year-End Greeting from Jeonbuk

Hello! We are the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Cultural Tourism Foundation, growing together with our region. Did you have a joyful Christmas? With less than a week left until 2026, we sincerely wish you a warm end of the year with your loved ones. Today, we would like to wrap up the year by introducing the TOP 3 travel destinations from the "Jeonbuk One-Month Travel" program, which has received much love from many people.

TOP 3 Most Loved Travel Destinations

First on our list is Jeonju, the heart of Jeonbuk! Jeonju is a travel destination where tradition meets modernity, centered around the famous Hanok Village. From the famous bibimbap to various themed libraries and independent bookstores, Jeonju is rich in food and entertainment, making it a representative travel spot in Jeonbuk.

The second most loved travel destination is Buan-gun. Known for its magnificent Cheonseonggang cliffs and beautiful sunsets, Buan-gun is a place that will make you feel like you are falling in love when you watch the sunset. It is also a culinary paradise.

The third most popular travel destination is Gunsan. A city where modern history breathes, Gunsan is a romantic place, offering nostalgic experiences from the Gyeongam-dong railway village to the photo studio featured in the movie Christmas in August.

Hidden Gems in Population-Declining Areas

Next, let’s explore the TOP 3 areas in Jeonbuk experiencing population decline. The most loved travel destination among these areas is again Buan-gun, which has won two awards! Buan ranks second among 14 cities and counties and first among declining areas, receiving much affection from Jeonbuk travelers.

The second most loved destination is Gochang-gun. Famous for being the backdrop of the popular show Three Meals a Day in 2016, Gochang is well-known for its refreshing watermelon in summer and sweet sweet potatoes in winter, making it a delightful tourist spot all year round.

Finally, we have Jeong-eup, known for its beautiful autumn foliage at Naejangsan Mountain. In the season of abundant harvest, enjoying the autumn leaves while sipping on a warm cup of Ssanghwa tea is a truly happy moment.
