Whenever I crave samgyeopsal from lunchtime, there's a Jincheon restaurant I always find myself going back to: Yonggung Meokgol, a model restaurant in Jincheon County. It's a truly welcome place for those who love samgyeopsal. The fact that you can enjoy a proper samgyeopsal meal even at lunchtime is especially appealing.

Yonggung Meokgol is located near Daemyeong Ruuchen Apartment and Sinjeong Jugong Apartment in Jincheon-eup. If you go from the main gate of Sinjeong Jugong Apartment towards the main gate of Daemyeong Ruuchen Apartment, you'll see a small side street on the right in the middle of the road. If you go into that road, you'll find Yonggung Meokgol with a large parking lot. Even though I've visited several times, I often miss the timing to enter. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend driving slowly so you don't miss the entrance!

If you go into the road, you'll see a large parking lot. When dining in Jincheon-eup, the first thing I worry about is 'Is it easy to park?' This place is great because there's no such worry. On this day, when I arrived around 11:30 AM, the parking lot was empty. But when I came out after the meal, the large parking lot was already full. Again, I realized it's a very popular place.

The interior of the restaurant is clean and divided into spacious table seating and group seating in rooms. Thanks to this, it is often used as a venue for group gatherings. Opposite the counter, there is a self-bar where you can freely use sauces and side dishes, which was convenient.

I often visit during weekday lunch hours, so I often come to enjoy the meal menu at reasonable prices. When I want to eat meat, I order the samgyeopsal grilled set, and when I'm a little lazy to grill and wrap, I order stir-fried pork or stew.

The composition of the side dishes that come with it is also generous. Pre-cooked samgyeopsal comes with onions, mushrooms, kimchi, bracken, and bean sprouts to grill together. The table is set with rice, warm soup, green onion salad, and various side dishes.

Thick meat and perfect harmony

When you put the meat on the grill, the sizzling sound stimulates your appetite. The samgyeopsal is pre-cooked once. Cut it into bite-sized pieces with scissors and cook it quickly. When it was a lump of meat, it looked like a small amount, but the meat was thick, so it was quite generous when cut.

Delicious Samgyeopsal Meat Wrap

Put kimchi, bracken, and bean sprouts grilled in meat oil on top of the golden-brown meat and wrap it in a full wrap. The more generous the meat wrap, the more delicious it is, right? The well-cooked meat and savory ingredients harmonize, spreading happiness in your mouth. Not only the meat wrap but also the clean side dishes and warm soup were available, so I was able to enjoy a hearty and satisfying lunch.

When you come out after the meal, you can enjoy coffee and sujeonggwa (cinnamon punch) at the dessert corner. Finishing off the greasiness of samgyeopsal with a glass of sujeonggwa made me feel refreshed. With a clean interior, delicious meat, and friendly service, it's a great place for lunch and dinner 회식 (company dinners).
