I'm a Muju native and a Muju-gun SNS supporter, here to share a fantastic trip to Mujinjang!
Today, I'd like to introduce Wisteria Stadium, a place deeply loved by the residents of Muju.
Located on Hanpungnu-ro in Muju-eup, Wisteria Stadium was originally opened in 1989 as a public stadium. It was later remodeled by architect Jung Gi-yong, giving it a fresh new look. The pergola above the spectator seats, covered with over 500 wisteria vines, creates a truly captivating scene. It's especially beautiful in the spring when the purple wisteria flowers are in bloom.

Architect Jung Gi-yong once said, "Wisteria Stadium is the most memorable project I've worked on in Muju," reflecting his deep affection for the place. The wisteria vines covering the spectator seats provide a cool shade for the residents, and when the flowers bloom, they create a beautiful scenery with a subtle fragrance.
Moreover, this place is not just a stadium but also a place of unity for the residents.
It has hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the Firefly Festival, the Mountain Film Festival, and various sports events, becoming a place where the people of Muju have created precious memories.
Usage Information
Anyone can freely use the stadium.
Time slots are divided into early morning, daytime, and nighttime, and if the proportion of Muju residents is 80% or more, you can rent it at a discounted rate.
It is usually open as a space for exercise, walks, and relaxation, so anyone can feel free to visit.
In Conclusion
Wisteria Stadium holds many memories for me, including kindergarten unity soccer games and film festival viewings. Why not take a break under the shade of the beautiful wisteria vines and experience the unique charm of Muju?
