In Apah-eup, Sinan County,
a special event was held for
1,000 seniors aged 75 and older.
The 'Dongji Celebration with Red Bean Porridge and Dongchimi' event
was organized by the local community welfare council,
the welfare mobile team, and the Red Cross.
Volunteers prepared homemade red bean porridge
and refreshing dongchimi,
delivering them with care to
37 senior centers in the area.
They shared the meaning of Dongji
and the warmth of community.
At every gathering for the red bean porridge,
greetings and laughter filled the air,
with seniors expressing their gratitude,
saying, "Thank you,
it warms my heart."
The atmosphere was filled with warmth,
reflecting the spirit of the year-end festivities.
Chairman Kwon Deok-hwan said,
"I hope this time allows seniors to feel the warmth of community,
and we will continue to engage in sharing activities for our local seniors."
Apah-eup plans to strengthen
its commitment to creating a warm community
