I recommend visiting Nogunri Peace Park in Yeongdong, Chungbuk, to see the roses blooming in June.

I visited Nogunri Peace Park in Yeongdong, Chungbuk, two years ago.

The roses were so beautiful that I promised to come back, and I visited again on June 2, 2026.

I wasn't sure when the roses would bloom, but after reading some related articles, it seemed that they had bloomed somewhat over the weekend.

If you are traveling to Chungbuk, I highly recommend visiting the beautiful roses at Nogunri Peace Park.

1. Location and Parking

Address: 7 Mokhwa-sil-gil, Hwanggan-myeon, Yeongdong-gun, Chungbuk

Operating Hours: Tuesday to Sunday: 09:30 AM - 05:30 PM

Closed on Mondays

- Seasonal Operating Hours (based on the Peace Memorial Hall)

Summer (March to October): 09:30 AM - 05:30 PM

Winter (November to February): 10:00 AM - 05:00 PM

Many visitors come to Nogunri Peace Park to see the roses and hydrangeas.

As of my visit on June 2, the roses were in bloom, but hydrangeas are not yet in season.

For parking, both small and large vehicles can visit, and it seems that about 20 cars can be parked without any parking fee.

Since both entry and parking are free, it's a great stop during your trip to Yeongdong.

On weekdays, around seven groups visited the park to see the roses.

Additionally, dogs are allowed if they are on a leash and you clean up after them. This is great for pet owners visiting Chungbuk.

2. What is Nogunri Peace Park?

I enjoy traveling to Chungbuk every season, and I learned about this place through a rose festival suggestion from my mom.

While the beautiful European roses are well-known, Nogunri Peace Park is not just a pretty rose garden; it was established to remember a painful event in modern Korean history.

It commemorates the victims of the Nogunri incident during the Korean War in 1950 and promotes the values of human rights and peace.

Visiting the memorial tower and the Peace Memorial Hall while enjoying the roses adds a deeper meaning to your visit.

3. European-Style Rose Garden

Entering Nogunri Peace Park, you will first see the memorial hall and the Plaza of Peace, which are beautifully maintained.

At the entrance towards the park, there are hydrangeas in pots, but they haven't bloomed much yet.

The rose season will end soon, and beautiful hydrangeas are expected to bloom in mid to late June.

On the right side, the vibrant rose wall and flower beds are stunning, making it a perfect spot for leisurely walks and photos with family or loved ones.

4. June Rose Blooming Status

Currently, the roses are in full bloom, showcasing their peak beauty.

While some blogs mentioned that the roses were not as impressive at the end of May, visiting in early June reveals truly magnificent blooms.

The colors of the European roses are lovely, especially the bright pink and light yellow ones.

Although May is considered the rose season, I believe that the blooming conditions are best from late May to early June.

5. Conclusion

This is my second visit to Nogunri Peace Park, and the rose colors are truly beautiful.

It seems to be gaining more recognition this year, with many more visitors than before.

I hope more people discover the beauty of the roses at Nogunri Peace Park.

Parking is easy, and with no entrance fee, it's a wonderful place to visit during your June trip in Chungbuk.

I encourage you to visit before the roses wilt and enjoy some precious time there!
