Stress-Free Family Trip to Jeju: Rent-a-Car with Driver - A Game Changer!
After a long time, my family and I finally took a 2-night, 3-day trip to Jeju Island. It was extra special because it was a rare occasion for our whole family to be together. Traveling with kids and parents, we wanted the most comfortable way to travel. Choosing a rental car *with* a driver turned out to be a stroke of genius! Packing after so long, I felt like I was always forgetting something. Before I knew it, we had *so* much luggage, I worried if it would all fit in the car. I was still a little concerned, but when we arrived in Jeju, I realized I worried about nothing! On the first day, we didn't have to go to the car rental area after arriving at the airport. After talking to the driver, we were able to meet him right in front of the gate. He helped us load the luggage and opened the automatic door, so we could just hop in. It was great because it was easy for the kids and parents to get in. Having all our luggage safely stowed away made us feel so lighthearted and ready to tour. It was like our excitement levels got a boost! It was comfortable from the very beginning. No one felt uncomfortable, and we could just enjoy the trip. Because it was a private car, we could chat and snack without worrying about bothering anyone. Feeling a little bad for the driver, I bought him a coffee and gave him an apologetic look. But the driver, with his approachable demeanor and kindness, told me, "Oh, you really don't have to do this! I'm happy as long as you're comfortable!" That made me feel relaxed and warm. He made sure to explain the sights as we went, and my parents were really happy to have someone explain everything to them. He also took lots of photos of us at the entrances, so we have many family photos now. He even took care of purchasing tickets for the attractions, distinguishing between senior, adult, and child tickets. Thanks to him, we didn't have to wait in line for tickets and were able to enter immediately. This VIP treatment continued for all three days!
During meals, we could comfortably enjoy a drink, and the driver even made restaurant reservations for us, so we could eat right away. It was so convenient! It felt like royal treatment; we didn't have to worry about anything. At the end of each day, before heading to our accommodation, he even took us to the supermarket and drove us safely right in front of our lodging.
On the second day, we decided to tour the eastern part of the island. That's when it really struck me how much of a veteran our driver was! We told him a few places we wanted to visit, and he organized them into a perfect itinerary on the spot. He knew what to cut and what to add - so convenient, right? He told us about nearby attractions and recommended the highlights, so we could choose places that suited our style. I thought, 'Ah, that's why everyone says this method is so convenient and uses it again.' We didn't have to research or look anything up. Like a personal manager, he took care of everything, so we could just enjoy ourselves. He even got us a discount on the admission fee to Aqua Planet, which is said to be the largest aquarium in Korea, so there was no need to look up other options. I thought it would be impossible to see everything in one day, but thanks to our driver's systematic time management, we even had time to spare!
Since we had booked a relatively early flight on the last day, I thought we would have to rush. However, our veteran guide divided up the schedule and told us the timing for each activity, so we didn't feel rushed at all. We were able to look around some good places on our way from the accommodation to the airport. I thought it was a really fulfilling experience because we were able to visit famous photo spots and places that were perfect for a short stop. Although it was a short 2-night, 3-day trip, it felt like we saw enough to fill a week! Thanks to our veteran driver and guide, we had a more efficient and fulfilling tour.
