Spring Coastal Cleanup in Amtae-myeon, Sinan-gun

Amtae-myeon in Sinan-gun welcomed the warm spring season
by conducting a coastal cleanup to create a pleasant coastal environment.
On March 17, we held a spring beach cleanup
at the Mongdol Beach in Odo Village and Jinjakji Beach.
This event saw participation from around 100 members
including government officials, community council members,
the village head association, women's groups, and volunteer fire brigade.
It was a meaningful time for everyone involved.
Due to the influence of the northwesterly winds during winter,
various marine debris such as plastic waste,
discarded fishing gear, and vegetation
washed up along the coast.
As a result, we successfully collected
around 15 tons of waste.
Since the opening of the Cheonsa Bridge,
the number of tourists visiting Amtae-myeon has steadily increased.
Thus, the significance of this cleanup activity
to provide a more pleasant environment has grown even more.
The Amtae-myeon coastline has been designated as
a protected wetland area since 2018
and recognized for its ecological value as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Sinan-gun will continue its environmental cleanup efforts
to maintain a clean and beautiful sea.
We appreciate your interest and participation.
