Sinan Designated as a Special Zone for Culture and Arts Industry

Jeollanam-do's Sinan has been newly designated as a special zone for regional specialized development by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, officially launching as the '1004 Islands Culture and Arts Industry Zone'.
This designation is the result of national recognition of Sinan's unique cultural development model, which combines 1,028 islands with the 'One Island, One Museum' policy, aiming to transform the entire island region into a museum without walls.
Key Highlights of the Special Zone:
- Establishing island museums in collaboration with global artists
- Expanding the 'One Island, One Museum & One Island, One Garden' project
- Activating seasonal festivals and tourism
- Fusing the fisheries industry, including '1004 Gul' (oysters)
A sustainable cultural economy model is anticipated, strengthening tourism, encouraging private investment, and creating jobs.
Sinan's Vision for the Future:
Kim Dae-in, Acting Mayor of Sinan County, stated, "We will establish a model where the entire island is a museum and a garden, leaping forward as an island of culture and art."
Following the 'Spinach and Scallion Special Zone' and the 'Sea Salt Special Zone,' Sinan is solidifying its position as a leading cultural island, independently expanding the value of the region through this Culture and Arts Industry Zone.
Conclusion:
A place where nature, life, and art harmonize on the islands.
Now, Sinan is moving beyond being a simple tourist destination to becoming a 'cultural city for experiencing and staying'.
The time when the world gathers again in Sinan is about to begin.
