Shinan County Scholarship Foundation Awards Scholarships to 531 Students in Second Half of 2025

The Shinan County Scholarship Foundation has selected 531 students to receive scholarships for the second half of 2025, awarding a total of 794.1 million KRW to support local talent.
The decision was finalized at a board meeting held on November 11th, presided over by Chairman Kim Dae-in. The scholarship amount represents an increase of 482.7 million KRW compared to the initial plan of 311.4 million KRW.
Applications were accepted from October 1st to 22nd across nine categories, with a total of 597 applicants. Following document screening and deliberation by the board, 531 students were ultimately selected.
Notably, in the category of living expenses support for university students, all applicants with a GPA of C or higher were selected, with 700 million KRW awarded to 360 students.
The increase in applicants is attributed to several factors, including:
• Eligibility for concurrent receipt of scholarships from other institutions
• Availability of application twice per year
• No limit on the number of eligible family members per household
These broad criteria have contributed to the increased accessibility of the scholarship program.
Including this second-half allocation, the foundation will provide over 1.7 billion KRW in scholarships to a total of 1,084 students in 2025.
