Romantic Train Trip Near Seoul: Starlight Train in Yangju
경기 고양시 덕양구 대주로107번길 71-81

Experience the romance of a train journey near Seoul!
I took a ride on the Gyooei Line's 'Starlight Train'.
The 'Starlight Train' operates on Saturday evenings (1-2 times a month).
It's a unique train tour that departs from Daegok Station on the Gyooei Line (Mugunghwa train).
Enjoying a live performance + wine picnic set inside the train,
You'll make a round trip and return to Daegok Station.
This course is perfect for:
✔️Those who love spacing out while watching the scenery from the train window
✔️Those who want to go to a concert but don't want to travel far
✔️Those who are looking for something unique to do on a weekend evening
Please refer to the schedule below for the duration and program details!
To board the Starlight Train on Saturday evening, I headed to Seoul Station to go to 'Daegok Station', the departure station.
※ Please note that the departure station has been changed to 'Uijeongbu Station' from September!
Taking the GTX-A from Seoul Station, I arrived at Daegok Station in less than 15 minutes.
After exiting Daegok Station through Exit 6,
You might be a little confused by the somewhat empty surroundings,
But if you see the scene below on your right, you've come to the right place!
Walk straight into the pink station building visible in the picture on the right!
The Starlight Train was a popular concept about 15 years ago.

If you already know about it,
It might be fun to see how it has changed!
When you enter Daegok Station,
You'll be greeted by a banner like the one below,
It feels like everyone is celebrating the reopening of the Gyooei Line after 21 years.
Following the enthusiastic guidance of the Korea Railroad Corporation Tourism Development staff,
I moved to the platform where the train was waiting.
The exterior of the train has a retro feel, and the color is unique, making me want to take pictures.
When you board the train,
Wine and finger foods are waiting for you.
There's a wide variety of snacks, so there's no need to bring anything extra!
The front seats of the train are kept empty so you can enjoy them more spacious.
(It's like providing seats 1+1)
If one person applies,
The seat next to you will be kept empty.
The singer for today is warming up and checking the equipment!
(The singer on this day was Kim Joo-hyun from Sinchon Blues)
The Gyooei Line 'Starlight Train' performance lineup is like this!
Wearing a glow stick, which is essential at a concert,
I wait for the train to depart!
Starlight Train Boarding Report ② will continue in the next post.
Please look forward to part 2!
