Located at 12-4, Namsan-ri, Yangchon-myeon, Nonsan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, Yangchon Natural Recreation Forest was established in October 2013 to provide a comfortable recreational space in the beautiful natural surroundings of about 40 hectares.
The forest features various facilities such as a forest lodge, forest houses, water play areas, experience zones, hiking trails, and pavilions, making it an ideal spot for families and group events.
As I entered the recreation forest, the towering metasequoias on both sides added a refreshing touch. The autumn leaves were turning yellow, creating a picturesque scene that warmed my heart. At the entrance, I was greeted by the mascot of Nonsan City, a soldier, saluting me.
After parking in the spacious lot, I began my walk along the trails and noticed the barefoot clay paths created by local governments. Walking barefoot on these paths is known to improve blood circulation, relax muscles, and reduce stress, making it a popular choice among visitors.
The charming signs for the forest houses, such as the oak house, birch house, and cypress house, made me feel connected to nature, and I began to feel a sense of purification. The forest houses, accommodating 4 to 15 people, come equipped with barbecue facilities, ensuring a comfortable experience for guests.
There are a total of 27 forest houses, including four 4-person facilities, seven 5-person facilities, three 6-person facilities, eight 10-person facilities, two 12-person facilities, and three 15-person facilities. During peak seasons and weekends, reservations can be challenging due to high demand.
In the distance, a two-story forest house stands, ideal for families or groups. It offers parking for two vehicles and separate resting spaces on each floor, which are quite popular.
In the densely wooded area, there are play facilities for children to slide from high to low points, as well as a swimming pool for summer enjoyment.
Art installations scattered throughout the forest provide visual interest to visitors while creating a magical atmosphere that comforts the heart. The standing totem symbolizes peace and prosperity, crafted from ceramics to represent the well-being and prosperity of Nonsan City.
Recently, the number of visitors has increased nationwide, and glamping facilities have been established near major tourist attractions, likely operating only in the summer. I found myself wanting to spend a night at the glamping site in Yangchon, surrounded by nature.
As I explored the facilities, I was captivated by a sculpture titled 'Imagination,' encouraging viewers to spread their wings of creativity and envision new worlds. It brought a smile to my face.
The forest lodge consists of interconnected rooms, suitable for employees or groups. The charming surroundings and facilities for group activities enhance the experience.
A forest experience zone for toddlers allows parents to enjoy nature while observing wildflowers in spring and summer, with various facilities available throughout the area.
Amid the serene natural environment, listening to the sounds of birds, water, and wind, I felt that a restful night would completely relieve my accumulated fatigue. Yangchon Natural Recreation Forest seems to be the perfect place for those seeking to unwind.
