Reflections Before Enlisting

On February 2nd, I will be joining the military. I want to share what I have been doing for about a month since the end of the semester and what interests have emerged during this time.
First and foremost, the most memorable event was the first week of the New Year. I recall a wild drinking session with my friends who love to drink.
On the way to our meeting place, I accidentally took the bus in the wrong direction and arrived 30 minutes late, but everyone was late, so it felt normal.
We ended up at a pub for our second round, where we ordered spicy chicken feet as a side dish. They provided gloves that only fit the thumb, index, and middle fingers, which I found amusing and shared on my social media.
In the second week of January, I spent a lot of time reading. I made a friend who is very literary, which sparked my interest in books. This friend particularly loved the book 'Contradiction' by Yang Gyu-ja, and after being encouraged to read it, I went to the library out of curiosity.
After reading it, I became interested in novels and started exploring other books. There were many passages I liked in 'Contradiction,' but if I had to choose one for this blog, it would be a passage that I found myself returning to repeatedly.
Oh! And when I went to the library to read this book, I saw some adorable crafts made by young children, which warmed my heart. Their innocent wishes for their parents' health were so cute that I couldn't resist taking pictures.
From the second week of January, I started posting videos of myself playing the guitar on my Instagram account. I initially intended to post daily, but due to social commitments, I couldn't keep up recently.
I posted the videos without much thought, but now I feel like I want to leave a trace of myself while I'm away for 18 months. I hope that people will remember me during my absence.
On January 10th, I began practicing driving after the semester ended. I drove to Cheongju to help my sister choose an outfit for her interview. It was only my second time driving outside of Iksan, but despite the heavy snow, I managed to drive smoothly.
On January 14th, it was finally time for the LT (Leadership Training) for the 43rd and 44th Capo executives. We went to a ski resort, and I was surprised by how spontaneous and energetic everyone was. I hadn't skied since elementary school, but I ended up mastering it better than I expected.
On January 16th, I spent the day with friends, eating and playing board games. I overslept and woke up late, but we still had a good time together.
On January 17th, I went glamping with friends from my hometown. It was a spontaneous plan, but we had a great time by the sea, watching anime and enjoying some food, including a failed cooking attempt that turned into a soup.
On January 19th, I visited the Military Manpower Administration in Gwangju for my enlistment. After the medical examination, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the reality of going to the military, but I received a good health rating.
I spent some time at a cafe reading a book by Jeong Dae-geon, which captivated me with its love story between the main characters.
On January 21st, I took a trip to Daegu with friends to experience the local culture and cuisine. We enjoyed Vietnamese food and handmade desserts, and it turned out to be a delightful day.
On January 23rd, I went on a family trip to Busan, where we enjoyed a spa and spent quality time together. We ended the trip with a delicious pizza that was worth the wait.
Finally, on January 25th, I participated in the winter MT (Membership Training) with Capo members, where I got to know new friends and enjoyed various activities.
There are many more stories I could share, but I don't have time to write them all down before heading to the military. I'm grateful for all the friends who have supported me, making it easier for me to go.
Thank you all!
