When I planned my visit to Jecheon, I decided to combine the Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex with nearby attractions such as Cheongpung Lake, the Cheongpung Lake Cable Car, and the Chungju Lake driving course. This allowed me to experience both the beautiful natural landscapes and historical locations in one day.

The Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex was created to relocate and restore the cultural heritage of the Cheongpung area, which was at risk of submersion due to the construction of the Chungju Dam. Beginning in the early 1980s, cultural assets from the submerged area were transferred, and now you can see around 40 cultural and daily life artifacts, including a Confucian school, government office, traditional houses, and stone monuments.
By gathering the architecture and heritage from the area before it was submerged, visitors can appreciate not only the natural beauty of Jecheon but also the local history and culture.
Inside the Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex, you will encounter various traditional buildings. The hanoks, stone walls, pavilions, and old government office buildings are interconnected, making it a pleasant place to stroll and explore at a leisurely pace. It seems like a great spot for family outings, suitable for both children and parents.
As I walked along the path, I stumbled upon a traditional Korean music performance. The gentle sounds of traditional music blended beautifully with the serene walking paths and historical architecture, enhancing the historical atmosphere of the Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex.
I paused for a moment to watch the performance, which was an unexpected and memorable experience during my trip to Jecheon.
Walking along the path leading to Hanbyeokru, I also encountered the unique phenomenon of intertwined trees. The tranquil walking paths, traditional architecture, and surrounding nature made it a delightful place to explore slowly.
The view from Hanbyeokru was one of the most memorable scenes within the Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex. On a clear day, the panoramic view of Chungju Lake and the surrounding mountains was breathtaking, prompting me to stop and take it all in. Hanbyeokru itself is a historically significant building, and the scenery from there adds to its appeal, making it a must-visit spot.
