On the first day of the New Year 2026, I visited Changpo Garden, which many people flock to on such a warm and pleasant day.

With the establishment of a ticket booth, access is now only available through the main entrance.

Starting January 12, 2026, an entrance fee will be charged: 3,000 KRW for individuals and 1,500 KRW for groups of 20 or more, while residents of Geochang County can enter for free.

Upon entering, I found a traditional play experience area operating on the right side during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Operating Dates: February 14 to February 18, 2026.

Operating Hours: 10 AM to 5 PM.

Visitors can enjoy activities such as kite flying, jegichagi (a traditional Korean game), and tuho (a throwing game). The weather was perfect for kite flying with a gentle breeze when I visited.

At the operations headquarters, you can fill out a rental form for traditional game items, and they will lend you the desired equipment.

I also tried kite flying, but it was more challenging than I expected, and I ended up wrestling with the kite.

People were joyfully flying kites, while families captured those moments in photos. It was heartwarming to see families enjoying kite flying together!

It seems that the key to successful kite flying is to untangle the string and wind it properly, but it's not as easy as it sounds.

Cheers of excitement echoed from all around.

Kites danced against the blue sky, creating a stunning spectacle for visitors to Changpo Garden.

Riding a bicycle around the garden is also a great way to enjoy the scenery.

With options to ride bicycles, swing on traditional swings, and play in the playground, it's a delightful place for families, friends, and couples alike.

In winter, visiting the tropical greenhouse to see flowers and lush tropical plants would also be a lovely experience.

Changpo Garden is a wonderful place to enjoy throughout all four seasons, and it was a fantastic way to spend the first day of the New Year!
