During my late summer trip to Jeju Island, I spent most of my time exploring Seogwipo, the southern part of the island. I'd like to share some great places to visit in Seogwipo with your family. It was a time to relieve stress while enjoying Jeju's waterfalls.

아름다운 풍경

Jeongbang Waterfall

Jeju Island has several well-known waterfalls, and Jeongbang Waterfall boasts a stunning view. Imagine seeing a waterfall cascading directly into the ocean! It's a thrilling experience.

Located in Seogwipo City, it's easily accessible. Plus, it's close to Cheonjiyeon Waterfall and Olle Market, making it perfect for planning a travel itinerary.

✅ Basic Information

✔ Location: 278, Donghong-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

✔ Parking: Available

✔ Admission: Adults ₩2,000, Children ₩1,000

✔ Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The admission fee is ₩2,000 for adults and ₩1,000 for children. It's currently open from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The parking lot is spacious, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the observation deck.

The path is actually quite short, but you have to walk down a steep staircase and there are many rocks, so the walking time feels longer.

The sight of the water cascading vertically from the high cliff is refreshing. The powerful cascade from a height of about 23m is enough to relieve stress just by listening to the sound with your eyes closed.

The mist can be heavy, so your clothes and hair might get a little wet. It can be a bit chilly in the winter due to the wind, but it's an endlessly cool place in the summer, making it a favorite spot for our family to escape the heat every year.

There are benches where you can sit and relax, and the view of Seogwipo Port and Munseom Island is captivating!

Sojeongbang Waterfall

After visiting Jeongbang Waterfall, Sojeongbang Waterfall is close enough to walk to. The path leading to Olle Trail Course 6 is beautiful and perfect for a short walk, so visit if you have time.

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall

If you enjoyed the magnificent and rugged feel of Jeongbang Waterfall, then the elegant Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is also worth seeing.

It's only a 5-minute drive away, so you can easily visit both places in one trip.

✅ Basic Information

✔ Location: 666-2, Cheonji-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

✔ Parking: Available

✔ Admission: Adults ₩2,000, Children ₩1,000

✔ Hours: 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM (Night Operation)

The path to Cheonjiyeon Waterfall in Seogwipo, Jeju Island, was healing in itself. Because I visited early in the morning, there were few tourists, which made for a peaceful and refreshing walk.

Entering the trail past the entrance, you'll find a lush path like a forest tunnel.

The Path

Walking along the clear stream, listening to the babbling water, and watching a family of ducks floating on top was like paradise.

The walk from the entrance to Cheonjiyeon Waterfall takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and the beauty of Jeju's nature is breathtaking.

The admission fee for Jeju Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is ₩2,000 for adults and ₩1,000 for children.

Nighttime

Unlike other tourist attractions, Cheonjiyeon is open until night. Have a romantic time at Cheonjiyeon at night.

✅ In summary,

Jeongbang Waterfall is rugged and impressive.

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is elegant and refined.

The two places are close to each other, so you can see them all in one day, and it was a great place to visit in Seogwipo, which is good for linking with a trip to the old downtown area.
