예당호 전망대

Yedangho Lake, the largest reservoir in South Korea, has introduced a new landmark that elevates its tourism experience to the sky. The recently opened Yedangho Observation Deck stands 70 meters tall, offering a 360-degree panoramic view of the vast lake and the rolling mountains of Yesan.
From its apple-shaped curvilinear design to the thrilling transparent glass floors, this facility provides a unique healing experience for visitors. Best of all, admission and parking are completely free, making it an accessible and generous gift for travelers seeking a serene retreat.
A New Sky Landmark: Yedangho Observation Deck
Located in Husa-ri, the Yedangho Observation Deck(예당호 전망대) is the latest addition to the Yesan-gun tourist area. Its unique design captured my attention immediately; the elegant, curvilinear shape is inspired by apples, the representative local specialty of Yesan. Standing approximately 70 meters high, it provides an emotional perspective of the reservoir that was previously unreachable.
Upon entering the first-floor lobby, visitors are greeted by a warm and festive atmosphere. During my visit, a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and soft lighting created a cozy refuge from the winter chill. The lobby also features a fun photo booth area where you can capture memories against digital backdrops of Yesan’s scenery and fireworks.
Walking Above the Clouds
A swift elevator ride takes you to the observation level, which is equivalent to a 23-story building. The panoramic view from the top is overwhelming, showcasing the 402-meter-long suspension bridge and the serene water surface below. For thrill-seekers, some sections of the floor are made of transparent reinforced glass, giving the sensation of walking directly on the air.
Inside the deck, informative displays introduce visitors to the "Eight Delicacies and Ten Scenic Spots of Yesan," adding an educational layer to the visual feast. It is a fantastic spot to take "life photos" while learning more about the rich culture and nature of the region.
Healing and Culinary Delights at Yesdangga
After taking in the views, you can recharge at the connected food court, Yesdangga(예당가). This clean and pleasant facility offers a variety of local meals, including noodles, rice soups, and snacks that children love. The proximity of the food court to the observation deck makes it very convenient to transition from sightseeing to a warm, satisfying meal.
The combination of the suspension bridge, the observation deck, and the monorail ensures that Yedangho Lake offers a rich variety of attractions satisfying at any time of the year. The fact that entry to the bridge and observation deck, as well as parking, is free makes this destination even more appealing for budget-conscious travelers.
Whether you are visiting with family, friends, or a partner, the Yedangho Observation Deck promises unforgettable memories. This weekend, why not treat yourself to a healing experience where the open sky meets the deep blue lake? It is a place where nature, culture, and relaxation intertwine perfectly.
