Sunset Park in Jinju is renowned as the most beautiful place to witness the sunset, and these days, it's adorned with vibrant autumn foliage. While it's usually bustling with people capturing the fiery sunset and Jinyangho Lake views, I'd like to recommend a leisurely autumn stroll instead of just taking photos this time.
Sunset Park was created by the Korea Water Resources Corporation in 1999, along with the construction of the Namgang Dam auxiliary facilities. Over time, it has become a beloved healing spot for Jinju citizens.
The park offers a spacious free parking lot, well-maintained restrooms, and a convenience store, making it an ideal place for anyone to casually visit and enjoy a walk.
In particular, the large open space in front of the convenience store is a popular spot for families, as children can run around freely.
As soon as you step into the forest path next to the open space, you'll be greeted by a trail that's deeply immersed in autumn colors. Red maple leaves blend harmoniously with each other, and the sunlight filters through the branches, warmly illuminating the entire walking path.
Passing a small stage on the path with sculptures, you'll find benches, a pavilion, and rocking chairs under the trees, inviting everyone to sit down, feel the breeze, and relax.
The resting area under the pine forest is a tranquil healing space where only the autumn breeze and the sound of falling leaves can be heard.
If you walk a little further along the trail, the view suddenly opens up, revealing a panoramic view of Jinyangho Lake. The serene river, the distant mountain ridges, and the forest painted in autumn colors create a breathtaking layered landscape.
It's beautiful even in the clear daylight, and as the sun begins to set, a crimson glow spreads across Jinyangho Lake, creating a scene that epitomizes the peak of autumn. It's easy to understand why so many people come here to take pictures.
Jinju's Sunset Park in autumn captures the warm and gentle essence of the season in every aspect – the walking paths, the resting spots, and the views. It's a must-visit destination for a light stroll.
