Jeju Island Travel Recommendations

Sanbangsan Yongmeori Coast

Soesokkak Kayak & Teu

A Jeju Island itinerary with the family!

Here are some scenes from Sanbangsan Yongmeori Coast, and my review of the Soesokkak kayak and Teu experience.

I wanted to share these two places that both adults and children enjoyed.

I recommend visiting on a sunny day rather than a cloudy one.

Yongmeori Coast

Yongmeori Coast is a recommended spot for Jeju Island travel.

It is located in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo, where Sanbangsan Mountain, Songaksan Mountain trail, and Sagye Beach are gathered.

It's a bit far from Jeju Airport, but it is gaining popularity as a tourist destination because there are many unique geological attractions on Jeju Island.

1. Location and Basic Information

✔Location: 112-3, Sagye-ri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si

✔Parking: Available

✔Admission Fee: Adults ₩2,000, Children ₩1,000

✔Features: Entry may be restricted depending on the tide (weather conditions also need to be checked)

2. Scenery of the Exploration Route

In fact, the sea or mountains may feel similar wherever you go, but the bizarre rocks of Yongmeori Coast can only be felt in Jeju.

It properly shows the characteristics of a volcanic island.

Among them, the mysterious door photo zone at the end of the exploration path is three-dimensional and awe-inspiring.

The steep cliffs, rough waves, and dark sedimentary layers give a strange sense of mystery to those who see it.

3. Up to Jeju Sanbangsan!

Jeju Sanbangsan

Thanks to the scenery of Jeju Sanbangsan Mountain, which is clearly visible from anywhere on the coast, I was able to take a lot of great photos.

4. Duration

You need at least an hour to see Jeju Yongmeori Coast.

It took more than an hour, including the time to walk from the parking lot to the entrance and back to the parking lot from the exit.

If you're going to look around, it's best to plan a long visit so you can see it for a long time and keep it in your heart!

One thing to be aware of is that the exploration path is adjacent to the sea, so you had to walk carefully because there were many uneven and slippery parts.

I saw some elderly people having a hard time with the large stone steps leading up at the last course.

Still, it was the most satisfying of the Seogwipo travel courses I've visited when my family came to visit.

There are frequent restricted days throughout the year, so please call in advance or check whether admission is possible on social media channels before departing.

Jeju Soesokkak

Soesokkak

Soesokkak is a Jeju travel point where you can enjoy the sea and valley at the same time.

It was a good choice to enjoy activities while sightseeing.

✔Location: 990-1, Hahyo-dong, Seogwipo-si

✔Parking: Available (free)

✔Things to do: Kayak and Teu activities

✔Nearby attractions: Hahyo Black Sand Beach

Soesokkak used to be called 'Soedon' because it resembled a cow lying down.

Now, the valley and the sea meet to create a wonderful landscape.

The meanings are: Soe = Cow / So = Pond / Kkak = End

Things to do in Jeju Soesokkak include kayaking or experiencing the traditional Teu boat.

Kayak

As a result of experiencing both during my last 4-night, 5-day trip to Jeju, kayaking is great for couples who want to have a sweet date.

Teu

If you are visiting with a family of several people, the Soesokkak Teu traditional boat experience, where you can all ride together without being separated, is perfect.

Both experiences last about 30 minutes and it's best to make a reservation in advance, but these days it's off-season so you won't have to wait long even if you don't make a reservation.

If it fits your route, it would be good to go for a spontaneous ride.

If you are not going to experience kayaking or Teu, you can wait at the observatory.

Climbing up to the observatory, you can see the sparkling waters of Soesokkak, the sea, and the people enjoying their leisure time, so the waiting time wasn't boring.

And rather than going back right after the experience, take a walk along nearby Hahyo Soesokkak Beach.

Unlike other beaches, the sand here is special because it is a black sand beach with a dark color.
