The Moeul Dongbit Festival at the Cheorwon Labor Party Building and Cheorwon History and Culture Park is the perfect way to enjoy a deepening autumn night! It was a fantastic festival filled with the romance of the season.
Many people came to experience this autumn night festival. We had a wonderful time watching amazing media art and exploring the park.
Cheorwon Labor Party Building Moeul Dongbit Festival
Address: 265 Geumgangsan-ro, Cheorwon-eup, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do
Operating Hours: September 26th - October 26th, Evening 7 PM Performance
The Moeul Dongbit National Heritage Media Art show at the Cheorwon Labor Party Building is a light festival that runs from September 26th to October 26th, starting at 7 PM. It was a very popular event.
Parking Information
There is a dedicated parking lot. Parking attendants were guiding cars upon entering the parking area. Larger buses used the parking lot one block behind. Arriving before the performance started, there were still parking spaces available.
Entering the Moeul Dongbit Festival Grounds
Upon entering the festival grounds, cute dolls welcomed visitors. They seemed to be very popular, especially with children. I wanted to take a picture with them, but the line was too long.
There was also an event. By downloading an app via QR code and finding treasures within the History and Culture Park, you could win a prize.
After completing all the missions, you receive a prize after verification at the entrance. I received a Paris Baguette bakery coupon, a convenience store coupon, and even a glow stick!
It had been a long time since I'd visited this place, and I was surprised by how much it had changed. Since there was time before the performance, I decided to look around the History and Culture Park.
Exploring the History and Culture Park
Upon entering, you could see shops that recreated the olden days. In addition, there were various shops and a food street, offering visitors another source of entertainment.
This is Tteokjeon Street Food Market. Perhaps because of the sudden cold weather, many people were enjoying hot soup and food here. It felt like an old-fashioned market, which was endearing.
The hospital and school were recreated. It was a fun concept that was great for taking photos. Many people sat in the classroom, reminiscing about their childhood.
The bank was also fun. Behind it, currency was on display, making it interesting to see old money.
A raffle event was in full swing with receipts purchased within the History and Culture Park. Many people were lined up waiting to draw.
Moeul Dongbit National Heritage Media Art
I entered the main square to see the media art that starts at 7 PM. A large screen was installed on the Labor Party Building, and chairs were also provided.
At 7 PM, it finally started. This media art was a National Heritage Media Art, a scene I had occasionally seen on social media. I saw AI-recreated images of proud Korean figures. Was I the only one who teared up?
It was a heart-wrenching moment. I watched intently, not wanting to miss a single video. The applause that poured out from everywhere conveyed a deep emotion.
After the media art ended, I looked around. It was nice to look around with the sculptures illuminated with light. There were also lights that reacted to sound, making it great for children to experience.
After the National Heritage Media Art ended, a Pungmulnori troupe performance followed. Many people were drawn to the festive Korean melodies.
A trip to Cheorwon on a deepening autumn night!
I was able to have a fulfilling day, watching a wonderful media art show at the light-filled festival grounds and having fun experiences at the History and Culture Park.
