Healthcare Access Improvement in Heuksando

Heuksando Nighttime Medical Service Gap Addressed!
Shinan County Protects the Health of Residents with Public Nighttime Pharmacy in Heuksan-myeon
Shinan County has designated and is operating a public nighttime pharmacy in Heuksan-myeon to address the medical service gap during nighttime hours for residents of the island and tourists visiting Heuksando.
Due to its remote island location, it has been difficult for residents to obtain emergency medicines late at night, causing significant inconvenience.
To resolve this, Shinan County has designated the Green Cross Pharmacy as the public nighttime pharmacy since January 1 of this year.
The public nighttime pharmacy operates every day from 8 PM to 11 PM, year-round without holidays, with a pharmacist on-site to provide both general medicine sales and professional medication guidance services.
Previously, residents and tourists faced challenges in acquiring medicines during nighttime emergencies, such as sudden fevers or pain. Now, they can purchase necessary medications more safely and quickly.
Since the operation of the public nighttime pharmacy, resident satisfaction and response have been increasing.
Shinan County will continue to carefully monitor the realities of healthcare accessibility in island areas and strive to ensure that all residents can receive stable medical services.
Shinan County is committed to protecting the health and safety of its citizens.
