Growing Together: A Journey of Parents and Families

Becoming a parent is a process of growing together with your child.
At the Sinan Family Center, we have initiated the 'True Parents' program in 2026, aimed at helping parents reflect on themselves and communicate more warmly with their families.
On the 12th, we held the first session at the Sinan Family Center, followed by the second session on the 13th in Docho-myeon, with over 60 parents participating.
This program provides a space for parents to reflect on their roles amidst changing family structures and parenting environments.
It offers an opportunity for parents to grow healthily with their families.
Considering the unique characteristics of Sinan, an area with many islands, we organized a mobile program for parents to participate conveniently nearby.
To ensure more professional parenting education, we collaborated with the Jeonnam Comprehensive Childcare Support Center.
In sessions 1 and 2, we focused on topics such as 'A Safe and Healthy Home', 'Positive Self-Esteem for Parents', and 'Preventing Child Abuse'.
We explored not only how to care for children but also how parents can examine their own feelings and emotions, fostering healthy family relationships.
Alongside the education, we provided a healing program for couples and various experiential activities to help parents apply what they learned in their daily lives.
A particularly meaningful activity was creating a 'Happiness Promise Tree'.
Participants shared their feelings and small promises they wish to keep with their families.
After the program, families can continue to care for plants together, helping them remember the promises and feelings shared during the sessions.
Just as nurturing a small tree requires daily attention, so too does nurturing our feelings for our families.
If we cultivate our love for our families daily, we can grow into a warm and loving family.
This program was not just about learning parental roles; it was a chance to step away from daily routines and reflect on ourselves, our partners, and our families.
The Sinan Family Center plans to continue offering various programs that help parents and families understand, communicate, and grow together.
Nurturing a child's happiness often begins with the happiness of their parents.
Sinan County will continue to foster a warm family culture where families understand and support each other, sharing smiles together.
