At Oepo Anchovy, a Geoje ocean view cafe, I enjoyed delicious Daegye coffee and bought souvenirs. My mother loved the anchovy snacks. She finished them already, so I'm thinking of buying her more.
Exterior
The entire building looks like a glass greenhouse with floor-to-ceiling windows. The cafe is located on the second floor. Its unique appearance catches the eye.
Parking Information
It was so hot outside that I went inside to cool off. There is a parking lot at the entrance of the building, as you can see. There is also parking space on the opposite side, with room for about 10 cars.
Interior
The coolness was refreshing as soon as I stepped inside. The high ceilings create a sense of openness, and the ocean view is great. Souvenirs made from Geoje specialties are displayed right in front of the order counter.
It was nice to sit by the window, sip a cool drink, and enjoy the sea view.
If you go further inside from the main hall, there is an exhibition area. The shimmering sculpture on one wall, swaying in the breeze, was also charming.
Drink Order
Since it's a cafe, they have basic drinks and baked goods. I went after lunchtime, so there wasn't much left. There were salt bread and pastries that would be good with coffee.
Daegye Coffee?
It's an Americano, but here they call it Daegye Coffee. One cup of coffee was 2,800 won. I was surprised at the low price. When I looked at the cafe's signature menu, I saw the names Manjo Latte and Ganjo Coffee. The names are very intuitive, right? I can't just pass by something I'm curious about, so I ordered the signature coffee too.
The coffee on the left is Anchovy Mocha. It's one of their signature coffees, made with a cream mocha base and topped with anchovy chocolate.
This is a must-try! Be sure to try it if you go. And the coffee on the right is Ganjo Coffee. The black sesame cream base adds a savory flavor for a rich, sweet coffee.
They even gave me Oepo anchovy snacks to sample, and the combination of seaweed and anchovies went surprisingly well together. The crispy texture and moderately salty and savory taste were delicious.
Anchovy Snacks
If you go further inside, there are various packages of Oepo anchovies on display. It's fun to look around, and you can buy them right away and choose the flavor you want.
When you buy Oepo anchovy snacks, they put them in a pretty package like this. I liked the size, which is good for gifts. If you buy five, they put them in a box.
These are baked anchovy snacks and Deokeun anchovy snacks. The packaging is well-sealed, and they have zipper bags for easy storage.
I recently went to a pension with my friends and brought these along, and they were a hit. Everyone said they were delicious. I got compliments from my friends thanks to the anchovy snacks.
Each region has souvenirs made from local specialties, and I buy one every time I travel. Thanks to Oepo anchovies, which I discovered on this trip to Geoje, I was able to give gifts and receive a lot of love. If you're wondering what to give as a gift, Oepo anchovy snacks made from Geoje specialties are a great choice!
