Good morning from Gangneung on the third day of my trip!

Headed straight to the restaurant just downstairs from our accommodation!

Started the day with spicy Jjamppong rice and Sundubu (soft tofu stew) – a perfect Gangneung breakfast!

Feeling totally energized!

Warm Memories

Gyeongpodae & Gyeongpo Beach

A story of overcoming a trauma, lol.

A long time ago, I came to Gyeongpodae on a tour bus to see the sunrise on January 1st.

I remember spending 10 and a half hours on a cramped bus on the way back.

Amazing Sight

Now I can come to Gyeongpodae more often!

In my own car, of course!

ARTE Museum Gangneung

My third ARTE experience, after Yeosu and Busan!

Beautiful Scenery

Honestly, this time in Gangneung, it wasn't much different from Busan.

Except for the Gangneung-themed media art at the end, it was just okay.

Maybe because I visited the one in Busan just two months ago.

This is a must-do when you visit ARTE Museum!

Charming Photo

After enjoying various media art pieces, it's time to move to the next location!

Anmok Beach Cafe Street & Coffee Cupper (Gangneung Branch)

Parking at the Anmok branch was impossible, so we skipped it!

Now heading to Anmok Beach for coffee.

Parking was always difficult here, but it was absolutely impossible today!!

A bit further out, the Coffee Cupper Gangneung branch was more spacious and nice.

The reason I came to Coffee Cupper!!

This right here!!

Charming Photo

I'd heard Turkish sand coffee was trending, and I really wanted to try it, and I finally found it!

The actual coffee tasted similar to cold brew,

Very clean and refreshing!

I ordered it iced and was very satisfied with the taste.

Took some photos of our little ones again

And moved on to the next destination.

Gangneung Jungang Market - Parking Hell

So intense because it's the day before a holiday.

Gangneung Jungang Market, a must-include in our Gangneung itinerary!!

We ended up visiting traditional markets for three days in a row!! lol

Peaceful Scenery

It's so much fun exploring the market!

Every store, from rice cake shops to pancake shops, was incredibly busy with holiday food,

There were lines, and many elderly people were taking out Jeon (Korean pancakes) for the holiday.

We don't really like Jeon, so we bought squid fritters

And took out some Sikhye (sweet rice drink).

Mysterious Appearance

You can see these local sand cookies everywhere now.. haha.

Sudden Return Home from Pyeongchang due to the Weather

Torrential rain and fog made Daegwallyeong a mess.

Haslla Art World Gangneung

Finally visited, but it was just so-so.

Arrived at Haslla Art World!

Fantastic Scene

Honestly, there were a lot of objects,

But I didn't get many good photos..

After thinking about why I felt this way,

It's because the lines were too long at the famous photo zones, so I didn't take any pictures.

I should have taken one last photo..

The course is quite long, and if you look closely,

There are still some places worth capturing.

Special Moment

If you're going, be sure to take photos at the photo zones, even if there's a wait.

My travel companion wasn't feeling well, so it wasn't possible for me to take any.

The bright red tunnel lol

This is a popular photo zone.

You can only go inside and take pictures after waiting in line,

So you can't see it from the outside.

Happy Time

Still, go and capture some good shots!

Now, finishing up the 3-day Gangwon-do trip,

We're heading to Pyeongchang.

I heard there's a Zinnia flower festival,

So we decided to wrap up the Gangneung trip early and head there.

But a problem occurred!!

Going to Pyeongchang over Daegwallyeong,

The torrential rain was no joke.

The fog was relentless..

Got a real taste of Daegwallyeong.

Fun Moment

In this weather, we couldn't care less about flowers, so we went straight home.

I was so disappointed that I couldn't finish the trip properly.

Hope everyone has a good end to the long Chuseok holiday

And has returned to daily life safely.

Bright Future
