Fun Things to Do in Western Jeju Island with Kids: A Visit to 9.81 Park

Looking for fun things to do in western Jeju Island with your kids? Wondering what to include in your Jeju itinerary when traveling with children? I was searching for a place where my son could burn off his boundless energy and found 9.81 Park!
Currently, 9.81 Park is one of the hottest tourist destinations in Jeju. Initially, I chose it as a place to visit with my child, but while we were there, the parents had even more fun! The park is full of Jeju attractions, so I'm excited to share my experience and recommend adding it to your itinerary when visiting the Aewol area.
1. Recommended Things to Do in Western Jeju
9.81 Park is located in Aewol-eup, western Jeju Island, about 25 minutes by car from the airport. It's easy to find by following the navigation. For travelers without a car, a free shuttle bus is available from the airport or Shilla Duty Free. There is also a bus from the park back to the airport.
The park is open from 9:00 AM to 6:20 PM. Note that the racing closes 40 minutes before the park's closing time, so be sure to arrive at the boarding gate no later than 5:00 PM to have enough time to enjoy all the Jeju attractions.

2. Limited-Time November Activities
After entering, I purchased tickets at the ticket kiosk. There were various ticket options, but we chose the November limited-time promotion: the Pokemon Full Package. My child and husband got a 2-person package, and I got a 1-person package.

- Race 3 times (2 times on 3 courses, 1 time on 1 course)
- Ringo 1 time / Sports Lab 3 times / Sky Swing 1 time

3. Cute Missions!
Before heading to the main field, we completed the missions available only to those who purchased the Pokemon ticket. It was fun to clear them one by one. There were a total of 5 missions, including taking photos at the photo zones.
Each successful mission earned us a random sticker. Plus, completing all five missions gave us a chance to win special merchandise like Mew T-shirts and sealing wax stamp sets.
4. Pokemon Racing
Let's start with Pokemon Racing! There were a few conditions for boarding: cell phones and other loose items had to be stored in lockers, sneakers were required, and there were height and weight restrictions. Since my son couldn't ride alone, he rode with his dad.
We shouted the Pokemon's name loudly at the signal and started! If you succeed in the shout-out mission, you get a speed boost, so shout as loud as you can!
The track wasn't boring at all, with diverse courses and thrilling elements. We enjoyed the beautiful natural scenery while racing.
5. Metamong Ringo
Next, we moved indoors to enjoy Pokemon Ringo, which takes place every hour on the hour and half-hour. My son got excited watching the staff set up the battle arena.
The reason? The cute characters riding the Ringo! Bumper car rides with Pikachu, Snorlax, Metamong, and Purin are sure to excite any child!
6. Indoor Jeju Activities
After Ringo, we tried a few screen games in the same space. My husband relieved stress with soccer, baseball, and basketball, while my son enjoyed the trampoline and pinball. A memorable activity was the couple action racing game, where you imitate poses according to the shadows. It was hilarious for both the participants and the audience!
7. Outdoor Activity: Sky Swing
We finished the day with the outdoor Sky Swing. Swinging high above the reed fields like a bird was fantastic! Children over 100cm tall can ride, and my son had a blast. I was glad we chose this place as a destination for kids in Jeju.
During this trip, 9.81 Park proved to be a great place for people of all ages to have fun. In addition to the attractions, the food and convenient facilities were perfect, making it worth every penny and every minute spent there!
