Fun on the Farm: A Rural Experience with Kids in Cheongju

Are rural experience trips with kids a big trend these days?
Our recent trip to Cheongju with young children was filled with pure joy. We had a blast feeding cows, making cheese, and enjoying cheese canapés. We even visited a honeybee farm for a honey-making experience!
It was a day packed with fun and adventure.
This post is supported by Cheongju City and Baeksukhyun Experience Travel.
We strolled along the pasture path, fully embracing the autumn scenery.
The peaceful and quiet farm became a bit livelier with the children's laughter. Seeing them chattering and marveling at everything made me excited for the experience ahead.
Making pretty canapés with the cheese we made ourselves was especially popular with the kids. The combination of cheese with lettuce, paprika, and sweet chili sauce was a real treat.
Darae Farm
Address: 526-15, Chojeongyaksu-ro, Naesu-eup, Cheongwon-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungbuk
Hours: 10:00 AM ~ 7:00 PM
The atmosphere from the entrance was exciting. A wide, green field and pink muhly grass, perfectly matching the autumn season, welcomed us.
Parking Information
The parking lot was full of cars. After getting off the bus with the children, we moved to the experience area.
Darae Farm has a large parking lot at the entrance. It's great that the parking lot is spacious enough to accommodate buses.
Cheese Making Experience
Before starting the cheese-making experience, we washed our hands at the water station near the entrance and took our seats. The tables were already prepared.
Wearing gloves, we started making cheese. Watching the children enjoy touching the cheese with their little hands made me feel like a child again.
The cheese each of us made was collected in baskets, washed, and cut before being returned to our seats. While waiting, we also enjoyed yogurt, which had a rich and not-too-sweet flavor.
Eating Food Made with Cheese
Today, we decided to make canapés with the cheese we made.
It was easy and simple to eat, which was great. I was told that they also make ice cream in the summer and pizza, so please note that the menu may vary depending on the season.
The unexpected perfect combination was this!
I was surprised at how delicious it was to eat the cheese we made with lettuce, paprika, and chili sauce.
I thought it would be great to eat it like this at home too.
Cow Feeding
We headed to the pasture to feed the cows with the children. The little ones looked so excited as they carried their small baskets.
Looking at the feeding trough, the cows seemed to be urging us to feed them quickly, crowding around the children. With loud mooing, they came closer to the children.
I also gave the cows the dried grass in my basket.
I was surprised that their tongues were rough, but they wrapped their tongues around the grass when I put it on my hand. I felt sorry for the cow trying to eat the fallen feed, so I picked up the grass from the ground and fed it.
Visit Review
A time for rural experiences in Cheongju!
It was great to interact with animals and make delicious cheese in a quiet and peaceful farm.
Plus, being able to eat dishes made with cheese doubled the fun.
I recommend it as a place to visit with children, a fun experience where you can enjoy yourself to the fullest with your beloved kids.
