Have you heard of the climate-responsive urban forest and the fine dust barrier forest in Dangjin City?

This place was created to block the inflow of pollutants and provide a pleasant green space for healing both the body and mind.

There were many tall purple-red clover flowers everywhere.

Across from the fine dust barrier forest is an industrial complex, and in front, you can see the Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port.

The Asan National Industrial Complex is located along the West Coast Expressway.

It was named as part of the Asan Bay area development plan, which designates the areas around Dangjin and Asan, including Pyeongtaek, centered on Asan Bay.

The area located in Dangjin corresponds to the Gudae and Bugok districts, where trees like pine and Western arborvitae are planted in a multi-layered structure to reduce fine dust and improve air quality for local workers and residents.

The Gudae and Bugok districts in Dangjin host industrial complexes focused on iron, chemicals, and machinery.

Major steel companies, including Hyundai Steel, and their partners are densely located here.

Since Pyeongtaek Port and Dangjin Port are connected, this area plays a key role in domestic and international logistics, making fine dust a significant concern.

On the day I visited, mowing was taking place. Although the grass had grown a bit with summer approaching, walking towards the pine forest provided a cool shade that was perfect for a stroll.

Entering the forest on a hot day, you can feel a refreshing coolness. The dirt path through the pine forest made it even better.

This climate-responsive urban forest is primarily composed of trees rather than flowers.

Benches are located throughout the walking paths, and shade structures are provided in the center.

The scenery filled with red clover flowers was also impressive.

Another place is located about 15 minutes from the Asan National Industrial Complex and is currently under construction.

It might be nice to start a healthy day in this forest, which serves as a green shield protecting the gray city, providing a breath of fresh air amidst the busy industrial atmosphere.

I hope to breathe healthily in the fine dust barrier forest of the Asan National Industrial Complex.
