The Gochang Modern Medical Museum, preserved from the former Jaesaeng Clinic, is a meaningful site that has served as a center for modern medical care in the Gochang area since its establishment in 1954.
The founder, a graduate of Seoul National University College of Medicine, served as a military doctor during the Korean War. After being injured and discharged, he opened a clinic in Gochang.
After operating as a clinic until 2006, the museum now stands as a testament to the history of healthcare in the region. The museum showcases the architecture of the clinic, which includes the treatment rooms, waiting areas, and the unique layout of the buildings.
