As health becomes a central part of daily life in the era of longevity, Goesan County offers well-developed recreational sports facilities that residents can enjoy year-round. The Goesan Comprehensive Sports Complex stands out as a representative public space supporting walking, running, and everyday exercise.
With its recent transition to 24-hour operation, the sports complex and nearby park golf and ground golf courses provide flexible opportunities for people of all ages to stay active while enjoying open landscapes along Dongjin Stream.

The Goesan Comprehensive Sports Complex is located in Seobu-ri, Goesan-eup, stretching alongside Dongjin Stream. Across the water sit the Goesan Living Baseball Stadium and the Goesan National Sports Center, forming a concentrated recreational zone for local residents.
Established in 2004 and completed in 2006, this complex represents one of Goesan’s key public sports facilities.

Facilities and Stadium Functions
The complex features a natural grass field measuring 100 by 68 meters, surrounded by an eight-lane 400-meter athletic track. Spectator seating accommodates over 6,000 people, allowing the venue to host a variety of sporting events.
In 2024, it serves as the home stadium for Chungwon University’s soccer team and hosts matches for the U-League 2 tournament.
Transition to 24-Hour Public Access
Previously open from 8 AM to 10 PM on weekdays, the athletic track began operating 24 hours a day starting December 1, 2025. This change improves accessibility for residents who prefer early-morning or late-night exercise.
After 10 PM, visitors must enter through the side gate at Gate 1. Lighting is available on weekdays, while weekends and holidays have limited lighting conditions.

Seasonal Atmosphere and Winter Visits
During winter, the natural grass field fades in color, while the athletic track remains open for walking and running. The field itself is restricted to protect the grass, but the surrounding track is freely accessible.
After snowfall, the open areas clear quickly under sunlight, creating a quiet and calm atmosphere compared to busier autumn months.

Views From the Stands and Walking Experience
Walking or running along the track can be paired with rest in the spectator seats. From the upper stands, visitors feel a stronger breeze and enjoy expansive views of the field and surrounding scenery.
The open perspective refreshes the mind, making exercise feel less routine and more enjoyable.
Exercise as a Daily Habit
Regular physical activity supports cardiovascular health, weight management, and mental well-being. While exercise routines should vary by age and health condition, walking and running remain universally accessible activities.
The 24-hour opening of the Goesan Comprehensive Sports Complex allows residents to incorporate exercise into their schedules without time constraints.

Park Golf and Ground Golf Courses in Goesan
In addition to the main sports complex, Goesan County operates several park golf and ground golf courses designed especially for senior citizens.
Along both sides of Dongjin Stream are the Goesan Park Golf Course and the Jeongyong Park Golf Course, completed in June. The Jeongyong course features nine holes, walking paths, and rest areas.
Yeonpung Ground Golf Course and Seasonal Use
The Yeonpung Ground Golf Course in Yeonpung-myeon was completed early last month. It offers an eight-hole course set in a wide open roadside field.
Ground golf courses typically range from 15 to 50 meters per hole, while park golf courses extend from 30 to 100 meters. Activity slows in winter but becomes lively again as spring approaches.
