Zugusan Recreation Land, a landmark in Jeungpyeong-gun, is a comprehensive recreational tourism destination featuring a resort village, natural recreation forest, Samgi Reservoir, MTB trails, zip lines, and hiking opportunities.
Nestled at the foot of Zugusan Mountain (657m), the highest peak of the Hanam Geumbuk Mountain Range, it resembles a turtle, a symbol of happiness and longevity.
Zugusan is perfectly suited for relaxation, with the nearby Samgi Reservoir enhancing the scenery on foggy days. The recreation forest connects various facilities, making it a popular spot for cultural experiences, physical training, and relaxation.
The forest sports facilities include a zip line and adventure courses designed to utilize the forest terrain. Operating hours are from 9 AM to 5 PM.
The zip line fee is 35,000 won (for 5 courses), while the forest adventure facility charges 2,000 won for the kids' course and 5,000 won for the children's zip line.
The thrilling suspension bridge is also a highlight of the Zugusan Recreation Forest.
Accommodations include various options: rooms for 3, 5, 8, and 12 people, totaling 9 different lodging facilities, along with 9 camping sites that have recently been upgraded with new decks and improved electrical and sanitation facilities. Rates are 30,000 won during peak season (July-August, Saturdays, and public holidays) and 20,000 won during off-peak times.

Zugusan is an excellent location for star gazing, with the Zugusan Observatory located at the summit, perfect for enjoying the annual celestial shows.
On March 3rd, during the first full moon of the lunar year, a total lunar eclipse event was held with prior reservations, allowing participants to observe through telescopes with expert guides.
The observatory events are broadcast live on Zugusan Starry Night TV, making it accessible online.
Spring has arrived early at Zugusan. On February 26th, the first signs of spring were marked by the blooming of adonis flowers, while the yellow cornelian cherry welcomed visitors in the Byeolcheonji Park area. The Samgi Reservoir is preparing for the season with budding willows.
A special space in Byeolcheonji Park is the newly opened Forest Personality School, which opened in 2023. This space allows parents and children to play and communicate together.
Parking is available at the Byeolcheonji Park lot, and crossing the lovely windmill bridge leads to a fairy-tale-like area. Check the website for participation programs.
The Forest Personality School includes a forest experience area for toddlers, where children can play freely in nature, helping to relieve stress and foster creativity and self-learning skills.
Additionally, through play, children build trust and connections with their peers.
The Samgi Reservoir, located at the entrance of Zugusan Recreation Land, offers a 3km walking trail to enjoy nature.
The Samgi Stream, originating from Zugusan, collects in the Samgi Reservoir, serving as an essential agricultural water source for Jeungpyeong residents as well as a valuable tourism resource.
The ancient trees by the water become art at the moment of capture, while the various sculptures along the way provide additional sights to enjoy.
