As you walk around the pond, a small pavilion in the center catches your eye. This is the Gyeonggonilchogjeong.
The name means 'a thatched-roof pavilion placed between heaven and earth,' and it is said that Park Ji-won built an artificial island in the pond and constructed a hexagonal pavilion on it.
Although Gyeonggonilchogjeong disappeared during the Japanese occupation, restoration efforts have since been made.
In 2006, Dangjin City reconstructed the artificial island and the pavilion, giving it its current form.

Unlike ordinary rest areas, its cute design naturally draws attention while walking around Goljeong Reservoir.
The stone-made benches are interesting in shape but may be somewhat uncomfortable for extended sitting.
However, there are shaded areas nearby where you can take a break from the summer heat.
Exercise equipment and washbasins are also available, making Goljeong Reservoir not just a destination for external visitors but also a park where locals can enjoy exercise and leisurely walks.
A well-maintained walking path allows you to take a full lap around the reservoir.
While it may be challenging to walk during the hot midday hours, you can still see people enjoying their walks in the summer.
