Exploring the 'Gaze' Photography Exhibition at the Chungbuk Innovation City Complex Innovation Center

Do you know about the Complex Innovation Center that opened in Chungbuk Innovation City? It was inaugurated last July as a space for education, culture, and care for the residents of Jincheon and Eumseong. This center serves as a venue for various cultural activities, from lifelong learning programs to exhibitions and performances. I frequently visit this place, and I was excited to check out the free photography exhibition titled 'Gaze' by young artists!

This exhibition was prepared by the young artists of the photography club 'Let's Club.' The theme, 'Gaze: Where the Heart Stays,' captures moments from daily life through photography. As I viewed each piece, I wondered, 'What emotions did the artist feel while capturing this scene?' and appreciated the works even more.
Visiting on a weekday afternoon allowed me to enjoy the exhibition in a quiet and calm atmosphere. Nowadays, taking photos with smartphones and sharing them instantly is so common that I feel like the sense of nostalgia is often lost. This made the experience of visiting a photography exhibition feel a bit unfamiliar yet special.
As I gazed at the large prints, I became more curious about the stories behind the photos and the feelings of the artists. There was a mysterious charm that I couldn’t feel on a smartphone screen. It also reminded me of the times I used to take photos with a camera.
In one corner of the exhibition hall, a photo wall featuring the artists' works caught my eye. There was a guestbook to sign and a small event to draw 'Today's Fortune.' I enjoyed the artworks and had a leisurely time at the exhibition.
This exhibition was sponsored by the Saenggeo Jincheon Cultural Foundation, which aims to nurture the cultural arts in Jincheon and create a platform for communication where residents can find happiness through culture. They support various cultural activities, including the Saenggeo Jincheon Cultural Festival and the Nongdari Festival, as well as concerts, performances, and exhibitions. It’s heartwarming to see the increasing cultural experiences in Jincheon. After enjoying the exhibition at the Complex Innovation Center, I felt a warm sense of fulfillment. The free admission made it easy to visit, and I hope to see more opportunities for cultural experiences for the residents of Jincheon in the future.
