Exploring the Beauty of Geosamteo Park in Chungnam

Hello!
Today, I had a vibrant trip to Chungnam in May.
Geumsan, Chungnam, is well-known as the hometown of ginseng, and I visited a very special place where the history of ginseng began.
This place is none other than Geosamteo Park and the Deep-Rooted Ginseng Experience Village, both renowned spots in Chungnam.
Upon entering Geosamteo Park, the first destination of my Geumsan trip, a massive sculpture shaped like ginseng greets visitors.
It is also a place where you can feel the pride of Geumsan ginseng, known as the first gift under the sky.
Located at the foot of the mountain on Geosam-ro in Nam-myeon, Geumsan-gun, this is the historic site where ginseng was first planted in Geumsan.
As I walked deeper into the park, a serene traditional thatched house appeared.
This is a replica of 'Kang Cheo-sa's House,' the protagonist of the ginseng legend.
What makes this place special among the attractions in Geumsan is the deep filial piety that has been cherished here for over 1,500 years.
Behind Kang Cheo-sa's House is 'Geosamgak,' where the Geosam Festival, marking the start of the ginseng festival, is held each year.
The clean architectural style here reflects the dignity of being the birthplace of Korean ginseng.
Throughout the park, there are sculptures depicting the legends, making it a great place to explore with children.
According to the legend, Kang Cheo-sa, who took care of his sick mother at the foot of Jinak Mountain, prayed earnestly in Gwaneum Cave, where a mountain spirit appeared and revealed a plant root with red berries.
Thanks to the root he brewed for his mother, her illness was miraculously cured.
Kang Cheo-sa then planted the seeds in the fields of the present-day Seonggok-ri Gean Village.
This incredible story of ginseng, resembling the shape of a human, began right here at Geosamteo Park.
Geosamteo Park, a must-visit in Geumsan, is also a great place to take a leisurely stroll and capture photos at various photo zones.
The traditional hanok buildings blend beautifully with the lush backdrop of Jinak Mountain, creating a picturesque scene.
Such tranquil landscapes encountered during my Chungnam trip are enough to relieve everyday stress.
On one side of the park, well-maintained signs guide hikers on the Jinak Mountain trail.
For those who enjoy hiking, I recommend a course starting from Geosamteo to the summit of Jinak Mountain.
Now, let me introduce the indoor space of the Deep-Rooted Ginseng Experience Village.
The first floor exhibition hall features stunning media art that captivates the eyes.
This space, where traditional ginseng history meets cutting-edge media technology, creates a dreamlike atmosphere, making you feel as if you’ve stepped into a mystical forest.
The immersive video room presents a theme of 'Planting Hope in the Land of Life.'
Amidst a dazzling display of lights, both children and adults can return to their childhood and enjoy the experience.
On the second floor of the Deep-Rooted Ginseng Experience Village, there is a hands-on education space.
In the indoor experience area of Geosamteo, visitors can engage in various food experiences and learn about 'Handmade Ginseng Recipes.'
Lastly, there is a very popular trick art photo zone for visitors.
You can pose as if you are harvesting ginseng within the three-dimensional paintings on the walls, creating joyful memories.
The photos turn out incredibly realistic, making it a strong recommendation for social media snapshots.
This outing, where I could truly feel the essence of the Chungnam Geumsan journey, was a fulfilling time from Geosamteo Park, which holds 1,500 years of history, to the Deep-Rooted Ginseng Experience Village that satisfies all five senses.
It’s not just a sightseeing trip; it’s a meaningful place to learn about the value of our ginseng and experience it firsthand.
How about heading to Geosamteo, a great place to visit in Geumsan, this weekend with your family or loved ones, enjoying the fresh air and numerous sights?
