Exploring the Beauty of Changpo Garden in Geochang

As January comes to a close in 2026, the chilly winter air makes it tempting to stay indoors.
On days like this, when staying home feels like a missed opportunity, I think of Changpo Garden.
Changpo Garden has become a popular destination, and today, I am particularly looking for a cozy place to relax.
When you visit Geochang Changpo Garden, you will find the office right at the entrance, along with a cozy book café nearby.
At the entrance, there is an information desk where you can pick up a guide to explore the garden.
To the left of the information desk is the office, while to the right, you will find restrooms and a kids' café. I plan to write about the kids' café in a future post, but today, let's focus on the book café.

For your convenience, here are some details about the book café:
It operates from 10 AM to 6 PM, but it is closed on public holidays.
You can freely browse the books available, primarily consisting of children's literature and general reading materials, making it a great place to visit with kids.
As it is a reading space, please maintain silence and note that food and drinks are not allowed to keep the area clean.
If you damage or tear a book, you will be responsible for compensation, so please handle the books with care.
By following the guidelines of public institutions, you can enjoy a comfortable experience.
To the right of the entrance, there is a story vending machine, which operates for free and provides cultural content.
You can select from five different types of content, including bestsellers and book recommendations, updated with big data.
Inside the book café, you will find a smart garden that features automated plant management technology, creating a vertical garden.
The phytoncides emitted from the garden provide a calming effect for visitors and help purify the indoor air.
Next to the smart garden, there is a nursing room for infants, enhancing convenience for parents and contributing to childbirth policies.
The interior of the book café is well-kept, with clean floors and comfortable seating arrangements in pastel colors, making it a perfect spot for reading.
There is also an air purifier to ensure a pleasant indoor atmosphere.
Currently, there is a special exhibition featuring insects, donated by Mr. Kim Young-chan, my former teacher from school, who inspired my curiosity about insects.
Don't miss the unique charm of the book café when you visit Changpo Garden!
