Exploring Onbit Natural Recreation Forest in Nonsan

I visited the 'Onbit Natural Recreation Forest,' famous for being a treasure-like attraction in Nonsan.
Despite the cold winter season, the atmosphere was quiet and serene.
However, this tranquility added charm to the beautiful natural scenery.
As spring approaches, it will be a great time to enjoy the vibrant greenery of new sprouts and leaves.
This is the entrance to Onbit Natural Recreation Forest.
You can drive up to the entrance,
where there is a free parking lot. After that, you need to walk up.
In front of the parking lot, there were yellow and red buildings, as well as restroom facilities.
At the entrance, there was a notice about participating in a health walking program called 'Walkju Stamp Tour' from the entrance to the pavilion.
The path from the entrance to the pavilion is lined with dense pine trees.
The pine tree path is perfect for walking.
The trail at Onbit Natural Recreation Forest is recommended as a walking course in Nonsan for health.
With a gentle slope, it is an easy walk for people of all ages.
As you walk among the lush pines, breathing in the phytoncides,
you become one with nature, healing your mind,
and naturally relieving daily stress.
After walking about 10-15 minutes along the trail, you'll encounter a small lake, a charming yellow house, and a tall metasequoia tree path.
In winter, the lake is completely frozen.
When it's not frozen, the reflection of the yellow house on the lake is said to be very beautiful,
so I felt a bit disappointed not to see that view.
Surrounding the yellow house and the lake, the metasequoia trees stretch tall.
Even though the branches are bare in winter, the tall metasequoia path still looks charming and magnificent.
This place is popular in all four seasons for its unique characteristics.
It is especially famous for its stunning autumn foliage, attracting many photographers.
I thought about visiting again in the fall.
From above the lake, looking at the yellow house, it feels like being in a European chalet.
The exotic scenery seems to capture the essence of this place.
With the yellow house as a backdrop, every photo turned out beautifully.
This area is privately owned.
The owner generously opens it for free,
and there is no admission fee or parking charge.
The best time to visit is said to be between 11 AM and 2 PM.
During this time, the light shines beautifully through the metasequoia trees.
Keep this in mind when you visit!
This place is also famous as a filming location.
The yellow building and metasequoia forest appeared in the drama 'Our Beloved Summer' where the main characters sought shelter from the rain.
There are no restaurants or cafes inside the recreation forest.
As it is privately owned, please refrain from loud noises and
be mindful of littering during your visit.
Nearby attractions include Tappjeong Lake, which is about a 20-minute drive away,
and Donamsa, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
There are various other attractions in the vicinity, so keep this in mind while traveling in Nonsan.
