Exploring Haeundae: A Visit to Potion Brunch Cafe
부산광역시 해운대구 우동

Whenever I visit Haeundae, I always stop by Harrydan-gil, a lively street packed with restaurants, cafés, and small shops near Haeundae Station. This time, I visited Potion, a trendy second-floor brunch café set inside a renovated old house, known for its cozy seasonal vibe and drinks.
In this review, I’m sharing what the atmosphere feels like in winter, what makes Potion fun beyond brunch, and why their highballs and truffle fries were the highlight of my stop.
Harrydan-gil in Haeundae and Why It’s Worth a Stop
Whenever I’m in Haeundae, I naturally end up walking through Harrydan-gil. It is one of those areas where you can casually explore and keep discovering new places, from pretty cafés to small shops with unique items. The best part is that it is close enough to Haeundae Station that you can visit without overthinking your route.
Potion Café: A Renovated Old House with Winter Mood
Potion is located on the second floor and has a modern, trendy feeling while still keeping the warmth of a renovated old house. In winter, the café leans into the season with a Christmas atmosphere, and that vibe seems to attract a lot of foreign visitors as well.
One detail that makes Potion feel extra fun is that it has a dart machine. It is the kind of place where you can grab a beer, play a round with friends, and stay longer than planned. It reminded me of playing darts with my sisters and jokingly betting on who would pay the bill.
Drinks and Menu Vibe: Brunch, Beer, Whiskey, and Wine
Potion is a brunch café at its core, but it also feels like a relaxed bar because of the drink lineup. There are domestic and international beers, plus whiskey and wine options that make it easy to turn a simple café stop into a slow, comfortable break. The owner clearly seems to love wine, and the selection feels curated rather than random.
The garden space adds a calm, slightly serene feeling, which makes it a nice spot even if you want to sit alone with a drink. It is also the kind of place that works well for group visits, especially for year-end gatherings.
What We Ordered: Highballs and Truffle Fries
We ordered bourbon and a whiskey highball, and both came garnished with dried citrus. After walking around for a while, that first sip felt especially satisfying. I had a disappointing experience with a weak whiskey highball elsewhere in Busan before, so I was genuinely happy that the whiskey flavor here felt rich and clear.
Truffle Fries That Kept Me Dipping
I also ordered fries with truffle oil, and the dipping sauce was the real surprise. It tasted like a flavorful mix that made me keep dipping fries into it instead of reaching for ketchup. Truffle oil can sometimes feel overwhelming, but here it paired really well with the fries and made me curious about trying other dishes next time.
Final Thoughts: A Relaxing Stop Before the Next Plan
At Potion, we slowly finished our fries and highballs while talking about travel plans and scrolling through photos. That relaxed pace felt perfect for a Harrydan-gil break, especially in winter. I left feeling genuinely satisfied, mostly because the drinks delivered the flavor I wanted and the food felt well-matched to the vibe.
If you want a spot in Harrydan-gil where you can enjoy brunch during the day and still stay for drinks, Potion is a great option. Now, shall we move on to the next adventure?
