Jindae Village in Goesan County is also located in Jangyeon-myeon, and the entrance marker indicates that it is the site of the memorial hall.
During the Byeongja Horan, her husband, Seok Cheon-soon, was captured and killed by Qing soldiers, leading her to take her own life in defiance of their tyranny.
It is said that her spirit appeared in the dream of the local magistrate to express her grievances, prompting the construction of this memorial hall.
Records from Yeonpung's old town mention that the king recognized her suicide due to the invasion by Qing soldiers, leading to her commemoration.
Inside the memorial hall, there is an inscription made by Lee Beom-sik in 1927, commemorating the virtuous woman of the Yeonan Lee family.
The building features a traditional wooden structure with a gabled roof, symbolizing the integrity and sacrifice of the virtuous woman and holds cultural significance in honoring women's virtues during the Joseon Dynasty.
The surrounding area of Goesan is known for having a clan village of the Yeonan Lee family, with descendants living in nearby Baegyang-ri for over 400 years.
Historically, members of the Yeonan Lee family held significant administrative positions in the region.
The memorial hall stands as a tribute to the sacrifices made during a tumultuous period in Korean history.
