Exploring Baekmi Village Food Culture Street in Gongju

I recently visited the 'Baekmi Village Food Culture Street' located in front of Gongju Castle.
This area is a famous tourist street in Gongju, lined with cafes, restaurants, hanok stays, and gift shops.
One of the best aspects of Baekmi Village Food Culture Street is the opportunity to try various snacks made from Gongju's local specialties.
There are many well-known restaurants here, making it a popular destination for tourists.
The information board in front of Gongju Castle introduced numerous restaurants and cafes on Baekmi Village Food Culture Street.
It was convenient to choose a restaurant or cafe based on personal preferences and desired menu items.
Additionally, the contact information for many restaurants and cafes in Baekmi Village was provided, which added to the trustworthiness of the recommendations.
Our group looked for a place to enjoy some light desserts, and it seemed that everywhere we went, the food would be delicious.
As Gongju's famous specialty is 'Gongju Chestnuts', many restaurants and cafes featured menu items utilizing chestnuts.
Numerous bakeries and dessert shops sold snacks made with Gongju chestnuts, such as chestnut lattes, chestnut soboro bread, chestnut pies, and rice chestnut bread.
I also noticed a restaurant selling dishes like chestnut bibimbap and noodles made with chestnuts.
Many cafes and dessert shops were housed in traditional hanok buildings, which added to the charm and beauty of Baekmi Village.
Among them was a hanok stay, where visitors can experience traditional Korean living. Staying for one or two nights would provide a deeper and richer experience, making for a more enjoyable trip to Gongju.
The hanok buildings appeared luxurious and felt like a precious gift of tradition passed down by our ancestors.
The cafes in the hanok buildings were also impressive, with a pleasant aroma of wood wafting through the air.
Visiting a hanok cafe with family or friends while enjoying a chestnut latte made with Gongju's specialties would create happy moments and wonderful memories.
In addition, there were various restaurants throughout Baekmi Village offering dishes like cheonggukjang (fermented soybean paste stew), Korean beef, Gongju gukbap (soup with rice), grilled ribs, nurungji samgyetang (rice crust chicken soup), and sanchae bibimbap (vegetable rice bowl).
As we explored the area, our group wandered into a bakery cafe where various dishes made with Gongju chestnuts were available.
We visited a bakery called 'Chestnut Village', which offered an impressive variety of chestnut-based baked goods.
There was even makgeolli (rice wine) made with chestnuts, which added a fun and diverse element to the experience.
Other snacks like Gongju sweet chestnuts and chestnut yokan (sweet jelly) were also available, making them great for family snacks or gifts for acquaintances.
The chestnut pie looked incredibly delicious, and the shop was popular, with travelers lining up to make purchases.
Our group bought a few items, and they were all absolutely delicious, melting in our mouths.
I highly recommend Baekmi Village Food Culture Street to anyone visiting Gongju.
