Explore Korean History with Your Family: Textbook History Tours

The Seoul History Compilation Institute is running the 'Textbook History Tour with Mom and Dad' program.
This program is a free family excursion that explores cultural heritage sites featured in elementary, middle, and high school textbooks, guided by professional historians.
Last year, the program attracted significant popularity, with 9,345 applicants.
This year, from April to October, tours will visit sites such as Seonjeongneung Royal Tombs, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, and the Amsadong Prehistoric Site.
In August, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, the program will include a visit to the Seodaemun Prison History Hall.
The program takes place every Saturday, with 20 families selected for each session. Applications can be submitted through the Seoul Metropolitan Government Public Service Reservation website.
Director Lee Sang-bae stated, "A field trip with family is a special opportunity to promote intergenerational communication about history."
More information about the program can be found on the Seoul History Compilation Institute website.
Applications are also available on the Seoul Metropolitan Government Public Service Reservation website (yeyak.seoul.go.kr).
