Today, I would like to share updated information about the Susungdae Sledding Park, which will open on December 24th, as featured in the January issue of Gyeongnam Gonggam.
Located in the Susungdae tourist area of Wichun-myeon, Geochang-gun, the Susungdae Sledding Park offers a unique experience. As you step into the park, the biting wind subsides, likely shielded by the surrounding mountains that create a calm atmosphere.
This sledding park is one of the most popular winter destinations in the Gyeongnam region. It features a 20-meter wide and 120-meter long slope, with 18 of the 20 lanes operational for safety. Odd-numbered lanes are for adults, while even-numbered lanes are designated for children, ensuring that families can enjoy thrilling sledding experiences safely at intervals of about five seconds.
As you glide down the snow-covered slope, cheers from both children and adults fill the air, creating an atmosphere of joy and excitement. The sparkling snow reflects the sunlight, while the surrounding trees and mountains, blanketed in white, enhance the beautiful winter scenery. The sledding experience amidst the high mountains, blue skies, and white clouds is truly special.
From December 24th to February 10th, the Susungdae Sledding Park attracts visitors not only from Changwon, Geoje, and Jinju but also from various regions including Daegu, Gwangju, and Daejeon.
With affordable prices and the convenience of a moving walkway, the park's popularity continues to rise. In addition to sledding, visitors can also experience a suspension bridge, making it a noteworthy winter travel destination.
The park operates from 10 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM, allowing two sessions each day. Admission fees are 6,000 won for children, 7,000 won for teenagers and military personnel, and 8,000 won for adults. Groups of 30 or more receive discounts, and residents of Geochang-gun enjoy an additional 30% off. Parking is free for the first three hours, and vehicles using the sledding park can park all day without time restrictions.
